Pregnancy Brain

This is something I recently heard my friend talking about and I found it HI-larious.

She told me how pregnancy brain during her time had her doing the most absent minded things…like chilling on the couch while her steak burned to a complete and total crisp! :hehe:

Share a story or two of a time when you had preggo-brain.

Re: Pregnancy Brain

My husband doesn’t believe in any such thing like pregnancy brain. I am quite forgetful these days. :frowning:

Re: Pregnancy Brain

Oh, I’m totally there again. I almost walked away from my purse at the park the other day. Completely forgot I even had it with me! I also remember first time around I would forget entire words. I’d be sitting in meetings and suddenly could not remember the simplest of words and end up looking like an idiot in the middle of a presentation.

Don’t remember having it back then but I’m not pregnant and I find myself doing things that I can’t blame on a preggo brain. Sigh

Re: Pregnancy Brain

The other day we were watching a cricket match and I could not calculate the required run rate :bummer:

Re: Pregnancy Brain

I personally didn’t expereince that ( i was working until the day before my labor,) but i have heard others talking about it. A friend of mine said she would forget a lot things and blamed it on being pregrant.

Re: Pregnancy Brain

same with me!

Re: Pregnancy Brain

I tried to drive away at a drive-thru after paying and not even trying to get my tea :-/ Thankfully the served leaped out the window to stop me from driving :hehe:

Called the optometrist to book a dental cleaning :-/

Called my friend to say Happy Birthday on her Wedding anniversary :-/

Re: Pregnancy Brain

I have post pregnancy brain. called mommy brain. Where anything related to child is well remembered. All else forgotten!

I often walk past my car in the driving lot. And the driver is back there waving at me cos we set out together from the hospital doors towards the car and I get lost in thought.

The number of times I look for my sunglasses when they are on my head is appalling.

:smack: as is the number of times I have gone ballistic on someone thinking they misplaced something of mine only to find it exactly where it should be (and then hiding it so that it doesn’t look bad that I went ballistic)

Re: Pregnancy Brain

^ My post mommy brain is better when I get sleep. As soon as the kids are sick or I go thru the sleep deprivation cycle. I can’t remember **** all
I have done the sunglasses thing too frantically looking in my car…but I was actually wearing them :smack:

Re: Pregnancy Brain

Yup, defo got preggo brain here! :bummer:

Re: Pregnancy Brain

I did lot of cooking blunders during pregnancy :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Pregnancy Brain

I got pregnancy brain with my first pregnancy 2 years ago and it never went away…

Re: Pregnancy Brain

Is it really pregnancy brain though? Or is it just normal forgetfulness?

Everything I seem to do which is weird/wrong, my mum associates with pregnancy. Like if I get annoyed with a loud sound, or I can smell something strong that she can’t (that one may be true…), or if I get irritated at a TV advert - ooohhhh just because you’re pregnant. That’s all I hear lol. Is it really? Or is it just your personality?

Re: Pregnancy Brain

^ A bit of both, I would say, but pregnancy definitely exacerbates the little things. As for pregnancy brain, it’s medically documented! I swear I’m not just forgetting whole words for things and losing my train of thought midway!
