pregnancy and fatigue

ok…so i’ve been an insomniac for as long as i can remember. the thing is, ever since i became preggo (7 weeks now) its like i’ve been sleeping allll the time. i have NO OTHER SYMPTOMS at all! yeah i get a bit dizzy at times but so far no extreme morning sickness, no aversion to foods etc. is it normal to be sleeping for 10-12 hrs straight? i mean i am working so i’m forced to stay awake 9 to 5, but its like as soon as i get home, i start getting sleepy and i’m completely out by 8 or 9pm. poor hubby is bored to death every night cuz he’ got no one to talk to or joke around with or even have dinner with him :frowning:

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

congratulations!

your body needs rest -- listen to it! hubby will understand.

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

it's your body's natural call to take it easy. The fatigue should go away by week 10-12 and then you should be feeling much better. I remember having the same issue, and Alhamdulillah, got over it without even knowing.

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

In the first trimester I used to be out by 7pm!

8pm in second trimester

now i'm up to about 10.30pm, so yeah it gets better!

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

Very normal. Just be thankful that you don't have other symptoms such as nausea. I have the worst nausea which usually kicks in towards evening time and lasts till I go to bed. Driving me crazy.

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

^ exactly how I was

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

i'm almost 28 weeks pregnant now and i'm also sleeping more than usual. I was very active in 1st and 2nd trimester but now I just feel less energetic and soo lazy! :(

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

I get tired too. I'm in first-Tri.

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

Ack!! I was this way too! Never had even a moment of morning sickness in 1st trimester but every time, I was bone-tired ALLLLLL the time in the 1st. It went WAY beyond normal tiredness, this was total, absolute weary, bone-tired fatigue. It DID get lots betterin the 2nd trimester, I could at least function then...but 1st trimester was really hell cause I just couldnt function.

Many congrats to you!! And heres to 2nd trimester, you're almost there!!! :)

I’m 24 weeks (m’A) and I feel more sleepy too now. I only had fatigue early in the pregnancy and then after that I was fine. Now I feel like sleeping all the time :bummer:
Strange…

Do you remember when it got better, around what week?

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

^15-16 weeks, but it was gradual. less nausea then slowly my appetite returned.

Re: pregnancy and fatigue

^I had the same symptoms Sajal and it got all better in week 18!
