Can Blood Test for pregnancy be wrong? has anyone experienced it?

No it can not be wrong. That's what a doctor told me when I was taking my pregnancy test. She told me not to go for urine test as it can sometime be wrong , so I took the blood test. I don't know about urine test but blood test is so accurate that even tells you the week of pregnancy (at the time the test was taken).

By wrong you mean wrongly positive....??...
there are certain conditions which can cause a false positive ...but from what I remember its not common...

Yes Chip , Say the result comes back negative … but the body is showing all the signs of pregnancy …
Various Pregnancy boards are full of ladies indicating that some did experience this , where they were actually pregnant but the blood test kept coming up as negative and eventually their pregnancy could be indicated by Ultrasound 
Thats why I asked if there is anyone here who might have experienced this blood test issue?

take a urine tst instead... its easier as well :D

I took my test when I was in 6th week so may be you are earlier than 6 weeks. Wish you good luck :k:

Yeah, Upon research i found out that there are two types of blood tests for Pregnancy : Qualitative and Quantitative … Qualitative one, just gives a simple yes or no to Pregnancy , measures HCG when it reaches higher levels , similar to HPT… so it can give false results sometimes …
Quantitative is more extensive test , takes time for the results … but accurately tells even if there is tiny bits or harmone (HCG ) in the body … The GP gives it only if even after the two months of missed period, the lady insists she’s pregnant

^ may be she is !!! she just knows. I knew about my pregnancy all along. No body was believing me , so everybody made me wait till I missed my 1st period (that was a month's waiting ) and I was right it was already 6 weeks :D
btw I took the quantitative test ! it's very accurate.

i took the urine test and found out plus i was reallllllllllllllllllllly early stage preg probably like 2 weeks or somethin..

Yes Diamond , I read about some women getting and intuition that they are pregnant even before they do any tests … My friend experienced it too and it just sounded strange , until I read it on internet and happens to many ladies
Zayma I guess two weeks is a good enough time for urine test … because by day 12 the HCG levels exceed the 25mls for majority women and are readable in the HPT’s …
CB , I had a false negative from a blood test as well. They told me it couldnt happen, but I knewI was pregnant. I waited a couple of days, did the home test, and then back to the dr. again :D
I know its pretty rare, but it happened to me .

wow .. thanks for sharing it smki … I just wanted to confirm that its not just the internet thing and a real thing .. I must say this rare thing confuses the crap out of a person :no:
