Prefix

This is another poem of mine. Do not hesitate to tell me what you think

Prefix

The Queen Mary travelled across the seven seas
Uniting dearest accomplices from oceans apart…
Yet the most fascinating achievement yearns out to be,
The giver of happiness of those privileged to board.
But what is a friend but a prefix to create a ship more beautiful,
Someone to explore the waters of life with…
I dare hesitate to say our friendship will forever remain fixed in my heart.

What lies beneath is most important
The comfort of bonding to another and clearing the mist…
Yet there is too much emphasis on quantity rather than quality;
The meaning of a friend so true is subject to perceptions.
But what is a soul but a prefix to signify a search lasting a lifetime and more,
Beyond the shroud of doubt and insecurities…
There can only be hope that a soul-mate does exist

Every instance I would see a glass slip from my hand
Time all of a sudden seemed to halt…
Yet once it would reach the surface so relentless,
It was inevitable I would never make it whole again.
But what is the tender heart but a prefix making a glass break more bearable,
The sharp constituents suddenly seem so blunt…
Tell me why if you’ve felt heartbreak, you insist it is anything but your fault.
