Predictions

My Predictions:

(1) Bush will win the 2004 election with little margin, 5% at the most. [Though I wish I be wrong – so a win/win scenario for me  ]

(2) Pakistan will remain a front line state on the so called war on terror regardless of who becomes President.

(3) Republicans will win the senate this year but will lose the majority by 2006.

(4) US economy will stay in the current ‘turned the corner’ state till the next presidential elections regardless of who becomes President.

(5) US deficit might not climb as high as expected but a balanced budget or a surplus is about a decade away if we are lucky.

(6) Iran will have a civil war or internal disorder in the coming 5 years, prompted by internal and external pressures.

(7) North Korea will stay the course and the US will keep ignoring it with lip service here and there.

(8) Saudi society will change, more towards radicalism. Unrest in the Kingdom will cause a lot of grief to the Muslims all around.

(9) Oil prices will go high even if they continue to raise production or find new major reserves in other parts of the world, as the demand will drive it higher.

(10) Hybrid cars will be in, though alternative energy source is at least 2-decades away.

(11) Russia will lose all it’s steam on democracy, but will come back to it a decade or two later.

(12) EU will be the next challenging power to US at least 2 decade from now , with China & India not far behind. It will be an interesting and bizarre twist of power struggles where alliances with Asian growing powers will define who actually the dominating super power is.

Last but not least, (13) globalization, outsourcing, global warming and multiculturalism are the hallmarks of this century. All those who want to swim against these tides will have a very hard time.

Disclaimer: Please do not make future plans according to the above. I do not hold any responsibility if you do so, what so ever.

Where is Israel? Jordan? Egypt? Dick Cheney?

^ They all will stick to their status quo, or in other words Cheney might face a heart attack soon.

Ppl of his kind don't die but let die.

haha ahmadjee r u sure u're not deliberately shying away from discussing the 'Oktober surprise' Bushies may have in store for us.. .. I mean there is NO way he can win this one without

a. staged terror attack no. 2

I dont consider a. as valuable since the first attack 911 occured AFTER not before the elections.

of course.. a 9/11 in 2000 would have helped the Dems.. as THEY would've been 'current' administration.. people would have forgiven Clinton and rallied behind him as a 'war President' ..he'd have easily passed the torch on to Gore.

it was needed after the elections to keep Dubya's Presidency alive (we all know Bush's rating in his first months as President..i.e. the time he wasn't on a vacation). and to embark on this neo-con agenda..

If things go bad to worse for the Bushies now.. expect another staged event to the same scale.. that'll scare the sheeple into giving up their first borns for perpetual war... that'll also be the end of 'liberalism', libertarianism', the ACLU and a whole crop of other activists opposing the current regime.

The seat was fix even without 911, this is what most analysis say as well.

Agreed but since when does the voice of Americans count, when there is a President. On a floating point or not who cares!?

Another 911 will not just break the neck of Wall Street but also that of the US Gov.. I dont think similiar incidents will occure not in this seriousness!

AJ, more than half of your predictions are for a decade or two away. We will just let our kids come here to this website (provided it isnt nuked by then) and see papa play Nostradamus :D

Here is my take on the remaining not-so-distant predictions:

  1. Bush will lose but yep the margin of defeat will be 5% or less.

  2. Pakistan will remain the "ally" as long as Mush is alive and kicking, else the "war on terror" will be fought in Pakistan.

  3. Republicans willl lose majority of the seats in both houses.

  4. Iran will perfect the nuclear tech.

  5. North Korea will continue iwith its current course.

You're forgetting the trump, OBL. His capture would seal victory for Bush. And I wouldn't be surprised if he too pops out of a rat hole somewhere in Pakistan or Afghanistan.

Have you ever cheated at card?

Predictions of events before the next Olympics.

1) With the US army increasingly entangled in the Middle East, China sees its best chance of invading Taiwan without interference from the US and it could happen in a couple of years.

2) Iran in a couple of years will have the capability to produce nuclear weapons. So either Israel would strike or US forces in Iraq would do something before Iran goes nuclear. This could very well set the Middle East on fire.

3) If both these things happen, then China and the Middle East could have a common enemy and they could join hands in this war taking it to a global scale.

4) If Musharraf is deposed in any way, the religious parties shall fill the vacuum as they have been increasingly getting stronger and nearer to the power centre and this could very well lead the US to move in to handle Pakistani nukes.

5) Lastly, with the centre government in India getting increasingly wobbly, there is high chance of it falling in two years.

To Surya,

About your point about china invading Taiwan. Forget about it! They are not so much emotional about it. They have already conquered USA. Just go to any discount store here i.e. Walmart, Target, Kmart etc. etc and start looking at the labels. You understand what I am saying! Why would they do anything to jeapordise that!

China would do whatever is benefitial for them and invading Taiwan is not one of those.

First it was cold war in 80s against Soviets. Now it is economical war against Chinese, and they are winning this war. Their economy is growing by 9% annually aur America ki raaton ki neendain harram ho gaee hain. Yeah call them communist country or with some other bad names, but they are kicking America’s butt when it comes to economy. They are buying all the steal and oil. Bad news for SUV drivers in America, if you think that high prices of gas is temporary than think again. Prices will stay like this or go even higher. Those days of cheap gas are gone. American now have to change thier lifestyles or we are in serious trouble.

The reason I predict that Bush will win is because he has at least 3-4 times more money to spend than Kerry. In a tight race as this one ... ads, especially negative ones, swing 4-5% of votes and air time needs some serious dough.

China will never jump into any millitary conflict with USA, be it for Pakistan/Middle East or Taiwan. They will seal their lips like they did in Iraq war. China will keep growing stronger and stronger and US will suffer badly of its effects (as we are seeing it already). In next two to three decades, until US completely gets on its knees in front of Asian Tigers including India, China will not move at all. Once China and EU defeat US on economic front, then they will be in position to dictate US on some levels. Signs are visible, its just the matter of time that we are going to witness this. Unless Dubya and likes go all out on Middle East and occupy the 70% of world's oil reserve by force. May God safe this planet from freaks like the one hiding in Afghanistan and the bigger one empty-head in White House.
