precautions in first pregnancy

Hello frnds

What are the precAutions in first pregnancy when u don’t feel like eating and Dr advice to take fluids can’t see gyane becoz of eid holidays.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Holidays or no holidays your ob/gyn or someone from the hospital/clinic should be available on the phone for consultation and queries and emergencies. If not change ASAP. Same goes for pediatricians.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Fluids come in many forms. Soups, teas (just be careful with some herbal ones), very juicy fruits (especially melons), popsicles, jello, ice, etc. I found water to be most difficult to be honest, but it was easier when very cold. I'd say if you can tolerate sodas, have some, whatever you can keep down. Try milk too.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Try to flavor the Water with something, lemon, room afza, or you could try gatorade ( I think it's available in Pakistan). If you vomit too much and get dehydrated to you should go to the hospital which is open on eid day itself as well. They will give you an IV ( drip). Also, try taking a sip of water here and there throughout the day. I had the same problem of not being able to drink water at all during pregnancy.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Thanks alot. Yes I got iv drip.sorry for asking as I go in emergency and get my blood test which show very high hcg and dr said it's positive. So I'm confused is this the only reason u can get when u r pregnant.I'm having little cramps also.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Yes, there are very few diseases that show a false pregnancy positive. You should make an appointment with a gyne. Have you missed your period? You should be more than 5 weeks pregnant if you are having pregnancy symptoms like vomiting, cramps etc. Little cramps are normal. If you vomit too much and feel sick, go to the emergency room again. Mention this to your gyne too when you go to see her and see if she will give you any medicine to stop you feeling so sick.

Congratulations!! and good luck

Reha I like eating cucmbers with little bit salt and melon.plus I want to ask can I eat aloo bhukara for nausea.?

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Aloo bhukara is plum, right?? Is that not garam, I was told to avoid these in early pregnancy.

Eat ginger biscuits, dry toast or cereal.

If u can't handle food try drinking as much as possible.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Congratulations!

Anything and everything is allowed. Just stay away from caffeine (soda/coffee etc) and raw foods like things made of raw eggs, rare/undercooked meats etc.

In the first trimester it's common to lose a a little weight if you're appetite is down due to nausea/morning sickness. Just try to keep your fluid intake up (water, juice, fruits) and snack/nibble on things throughout the day.

Please don't get hung up on "can I have/eat this", pregnancy is not an illness! Just follow the cues from your own body...iA, in the second trimester you'll find your appetite come back and your cravings will kick in.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Babycenter has been awesome for me...helped me in answering lots of common questions first timers have. I get their updates weekly and the daily digest to skim and learn something new everyday! Its fun to see how your baby might look or weigh as well...the development updates. And they're also on point on how you might be feeling and answer those questions before you might even think to ask.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Ok thanks alot everyone:)

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Eat anything that you desire. The only foods to avoid are smoked sandwich meats, sushi or undercooked foods, and unpasteurized cheeses.

Re: precautions in first pregnancy

Yes you can have Aalto Bukhara in pregnancy, I had it early on in both pregnancies to help with nausea.
