Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Hi,

I was wondering what beauty/ health/ fitness routines did you guys do especially in the months leading to your wedding.

Thanks

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Lots of water and I worked out 5 days a week for 45 minutes. It worked!

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Cool, did you do cardio mainly?

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

No one? :(

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

cardio and weights, about 20 minutes each.

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

I'm starting mine as of tomorrow. I put it off kinda late since the wedding is in Dec and I need to be fitted for all my bride clothes soon. But I'm basically giving up carbs as much as I can (I love my rotis!), and limiting myself to one dessert per week. I'm also doing high intensity cardio in short spurts. My plan is to go to the gym 5-6 times per week. And ofcourse, as someone already said before me: hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Your skin will thank you!
Speaking of which, my mom told me about this mask with turmeric and besan (not sure what the english word is?). It smells gross but works wonders on your skin!

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Swimming. swimming is good for your skin, and can make the skin moisturizing.

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Swimming is REALLY good exercise but chlorine water and salt water actually dry out the skin and dehydrate it. In some cases it can also make skin splotchy. I swam for years and I had quite a few splotches on my face not to mention the toll it took on my hair.

If you have access to Jillian Michaels videos, start with the 30 day shred. It's a really good mix of cardio and weights.

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Could someone post the link for beauty tips from Gina from previous brides, workout routines etc

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Hey, Siren, How is it going?

I think the high intensity exercise is a great idea!

Yep, planning on doing uptan aswell :)

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Yep, swimming is great exercise, but I don't have time before rukhsati iA to learn how to swim :(

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Yep, I've heard of those. I'll look into more reviews. Right now I'm looking into Blogilates online videos.

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

Hey Maria,

It's going ok so far with definite room for improvement. I started my exercise routine and have been pretty good at sticking with it (I'm sore all over and have never hated anything as much as I do the stairmaster!). It's just a little tough to get into the hardcore cardio having completely let myself go over Ramadan. For my skin, I've really focused on wearing sunscreen every time I head out. You won't believe the difference it's made!

Let me know how your routine's working out for you!

Cheers.

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

:)

I actually realised that though I've been going to the gym since the past year, it's not effective at all because of my eating habits (and also partly because I don't challenge myself enough during exercise)

Also, I have hormonal imbalances, and some other problems because of which I have skin, weight and hair issues :S

To start of I have started with the following
- I oil my hair 2 -3 times a week now (started last week :P) I use mustard oil mainly, am thinking about getting castor oil as well.
- I have a the whole Dermalogica CTM range, and I remember it cost a little fortune, am now making sure of proper CTM twice a day
- I now have a smoothie everyday for breakfast :D I've read about the benefits online and it was suggested by a GS member too. My drink is loosely based on Dr. Oz's green drink
- For lunch only a large salad and daal
- Snack on fruits if i feel like it
- Dinner is the only meal of the day when i have a some regular home cooked salan with one roti + salad/ fruits. Right now using the regular roti flour. After it gets over will get the wholewheat / chokker atta which is healthier iA
- Cut off Soft drinks completely (Since a week :P, but iA plan to continue this)
- I don't eat out any more.

I think junk food was def the main reason I've been so unhealthy so far. I'm not fat, but I would like to loose a few more kilos iA.

For beauty, apart from oiling my hair & proper CTM I am trying to use Uptan frequently.

At the moment, I can't really afford proper facials, and don't want to get them done using a voucher/ or in a cheaper salon or spa. I don't think it'll be worth it.

I've still gotta:
- Find a good strength training program for beginners. My gym has all the equipment and quite a few classes, but because of work/ commute I find my self never being able to attend the classes. I'm also looking into blogilates, or Jillian Michaels.
- I'm looking into and trying to find a good mask to use weekly just to help my skin abit

Re: Pre-Wedding beauty/ fitness routine

That's awesome. Keep up the great work!
