Have you ever ordered a game for the pre-order bonuses? What type of pre-order bonuses do you think (if any) make pre-ordering games worth it?
Here are some that I got:
Halo 2 - T-shirt
Halo 3 ODST - Code to play as Avery Johnson in firefight mode
Dead or Alive Ultimate - Collectors cards
Gears of War - keychain (though if I remember correctly, this was more of an in store bonus for those who bought Gears of War 2 on day one).
And a handful that I can no longer remember.
When I was younger, a lot of these things seemed cool. Now in my current situation, it just makes more buy a game when I’ll have time to play it, apart from games that I suspect will have a limited print (e.g. Xenoblade Chronicles), which I would just get as soon as I can. So if it’s something physical, then it’s something but for DLC, I wouldn’t go out of my way for it. I was recently tempted to pre-order Final Fantasy Lightning Returns to get Cloud’s Soldier uniform, but decided that since it would probably be available as DLC anyway, it would be better to wait till I can actually dedicate time to it and then by the DLC later on.
