My understanding is that according to Islam......if a woman initiates the divorce.....the she does not receive her haq meher or anything from her husband unless he gives her from the goodness of his heart.
And if the husband initiates the divorce.....then the wife only gets the amount of her haq meher.....and if the husband wants ....he can give more than that.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But if this is how it works.....then Islam has safeguarded/set the limitations for both parties.
You are wrong...
in one point.
If wife asks for it, and husband refuses, she can offer money to husband in return of divorce in the form of giving-up the HAQ MAHER
