Cooking is piece of cake. I can never understand the thought process behind the sentence "mujhay tu shadi say phelay anda bhe boil karna nahi atta tha". you know coz usually we do not highlight our bad points.

^ I guess it’s a way to emphasize how much “better” they have gotten, going from not being ablet o make an egg (simple dish) but now they can make salans and stuff. I.e., fishing for compliments

My mom is very particular about me being able to learn gharelo things too. So yeah i can pretty much make most things. Even biryani palao and stuff, however i will never learn to make maghazz and payae because i cannot stand them.

lots of recipes and you can follow quite easily…
I dont know abt u, but International dishes are so much easier to make–pastas, chickens etc etc and there r a million recipes on-line…even if one doesnt know how to cook they can follow instructions and gradually learn:)
I didnt even know how to boil an egg properly and I went abroad to study—trust me–the internet and a million calls a day to my mom helped me learn lol
and yeah I ate out too, but after a while you get sick of that and want real meals…

^ I agree international/western dishes are easier to make than our desi khana, or maybe it's just about having an interest in cooking - then everything would look easy?
I personally love to cook and try new dishes, but I am no expert, in fact I would consider myself an amateur, but b/c of my interest I am constantly trying something, hoping to become better at it. :)

kinda weird---but as I started making things--I began liking it---especially the things that came out yummy--now its like a hobby for me:) Its fun trying and seeing wht u can make....

i used to think so too but u'd be surprised desi khana can tend to be much easier than other foods... like pasta waghera alll u have to do is boil it, and heat it, its not like u make the noodles and sauce from scratch.......

I always make my sauce from scratch. Anyhow, I think it depends on the dish, some desi dishes are difficult to make as well as some non desi dishes.
I am not married but I can cook. The only thing I don't know is how to make is roti, I don't want to know, I am happy with store bought alternatives.

mmm..yeah mebbe you are right, i just hope i could get to that stage where cooking desi food would 'look' easier to me :p I just think there are so many steps when you are making a saalan or something compared to making pasta.
omg i’m in the exact situation i can cook like the basic things but the thing is i don’t have that much time to learn much more as i am busy with uni and work and of course the fact that i’m getting married in 15 days so it’s so hectic rite now…hmm not sure how the whole studying after marriage works i.a it works out well cuz that’s what i’m going to be doing as well…and yea i believe that you can def learn to cook other things after marriage cuz it’s not like u learn everything at one time you learn new things every day
