Pre-marital and Marital Relations

:salam2:

I think almost every religion and law prohibits pre-marital relation and majority is agreed with this religious teaching and obeying such law. But in any Hollywood movies, most of scenes which usually censored by the competent authorities is shown of pre-marital relation i.e., relation before marriage. Although in bolly & lollywood usually parents, family members are given negative role to prevent love before marriage, on the other hand villain have this honor to prevent lovers get-to-together [In think villain is doing good job but villain is villain]. In a movie with only censored pre-marital scene wouldn’t leave any good effects if the whole story remain there around pre-marital love or about lover etc.

What actually I want to discuss here that the law is very well known to each & everyone but still the authorities pass such movies and permit it with license even though it against the law / religious teachings. Why is that?

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

Because it sells.

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

Peace u_ahmed,

Not everybody just buy it. Some transmitted shown it on free-air.

and that is not only in case of film or movie but also in some drama (live + telecasted) etc.,

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

Even if it's transmitted, someone is still making money off it somewhere in the chain. These are (were) repressed aspects of society, hence people are more interested in watching it as opposed to peace and love (which had its time). You could even make a case that this is a fad that will fade away when people become too used it. In some sense it is a gimmick to make money. And, gimmicks change.

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

Simple solution. Separate religion from govt. Make pre marital relation legal. Get the government out of peoples bedrooms.

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

Peace All,

Ahmed Bhai, If i separate all those words which have some weight from your phrase like 'money', 'somewhere', 'chain', 'society', people', 'interest', 'peace', 'love', etc., etc., all these are (directly or indirectly related) involved in it and here i'm completely agree with what u said. But I think the main point is its "effects", which is long lasting and that cause unbalance. That 'unbalance' doesn't required to be shown by any person in public. It just effects inside us causing changes either advertently or inadvertently.

Plz tell how to do that?

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

Its not the govt thats in ppl bedrooms, Its ppls bedrooms that have the door wide open plain to see. You cant put the tv on or go to the movies, heck go anywhere without it being in your face. Hard to escape it really. I think anyway.

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

I don't understand your question. I have provided a solution. What do you mean how to do that? Exercise your vote. Be an activist. Push for change. There is no other way.

Re: Pre-marital and Marital Relations

In the 90s, the Pakistani dramas used to show separate twin beds for couples for any scenes shot in the bedroom. Today, they not only show a shared bed but often couples lying together and sometimes even some sort of physical contact. So although the same religion and the same country, what’s changed in 20 years? The importance we place on such details. We’ve become increasingly lenient and tolerant in many of our religious teachings - as a collective society. Pardah and hijab have also become a thing of either a particular social class or something of the past. This is why at times, the progression of Pakistani media seems as if it’s in complete discrepancy with the incidents occurring to its viewers, i.e., Malala, Christian and Shia attacks, etc. It’s all too puzzling really.
