I've bought pre-loved high end luxury goods (wallets, clutches) from a reputed consignment shop in my city. I also bought a couple of saris at a pre-loved pop up shop that was held by a desi fashion blogger. I've also sold formal shalwar kameezes worn for 2 hour tops to others. No shame in that game!
I would inspect and sniff (lol) the item closely if I were the buyer. I'm assuming pre-loved goods are sold for reasons of no longer a fit, need, out of season, or quick cash.
I've seen instagrammers selling their dresses which were worn to events.
Recently came across a post on a facebook group where the lady claimed that a particular page was selling pre-loved formal and semi formals. And also that those dresses belong to her sister and that page was setup by inlaws who are selling off her stuff for a low price instead of giving those back after the marriage didn't work out.
So I was wondering if you investigate or inquire where they got these things from and if they were genuinely their own.
ohh, now I see why you mentioned inquiring further..hadn't thought of that scenario! If the clothes are being sold with that story, it does seem fishy!
