Can someone settle an argument between me and my friend. She used to be married to a muslim and she converted and she s now divorced but still a muslim. She was telling me about how she used to be about to pray and her husband used to say you cant pray like that take your make up off first. There was nobody else in the house except her husband so why should she not be able to pray while wearing makeup. Is there actually anything that says we must remove all makeup before praying. Obviously for wuzu yes but I would have thought it was OK to pray with it on.
Also I was invited to a Quran reading once and one of the ladies there was wearing nail polish. Some of the other ladies asked her is that allowed? and she said yes cos she done her wuzu at home and then put the nail polish on so her wuzu would be valid and there is no restriction on actually wearing the nail polish. That made sense to me.
The reason you can't do wudu while having nail polish on your nails is plain an simple. With nail polish on, the water cannot reach your nails. Its mechanical blockage.
Having said that, if you put on nail polish after the wudu, it doesn't nullify your wudu and you can pray if your nail polish (or any other make up for that matter) doesn't contain anything alcoholic or ingrediants that are prohibited in Islam. I hope this helps.
i have a question. so you do ur wudu and put nail polish on, then pray. What happens the next time u have to pray? You broke ur wudu so now what? the nail polish comes off and then you do wudu?
It is absolutely alright to wear makeup and nalipolish after Wudhu is complete. Yes, prayers can be performed while wearing makeup and nailpolish.
Let's say your wudhu breaks after one salat, then it is better to remove the makeup and nailpolish to do the wudhu because water needs to reach your eyelashes, and if you have mascara on then that will not be possible. Likewise, if you have nail polish on, water will not be able to clean the nails.
i have heard that u cant wear anything wich covers your skin....
for example...if u do wuzu with mascara ,,,..mascara covers the eyelashes completely so they wont get wet...
but if u got cream...the water goes through the cream..so the wuzu is jaiz then...
so nailpolish..eyeliner and mascara etc. should be haram i guess...

this is what I have heard...now Allah knows best!
No, they are not haram, they should just be removed for Wudhu.

well at times water is not available we can do wuzzu without water as well symbolically..
i think wuzu can be done with makeup or nail polish as well but it would have been better if someone offered namaz without makeup modestly or after removing.
thats another new fatwa...wuzu cant be done with make up on...uff ppl seriously read quran and solve ur jahil problems..
yes everyone else is right...u can do wuzu with or without make up..and apply it even after wuzu

and how many times water is not available????
it is an exception for extreme situations
allah understands the problems a man can face in life so he gave u solution for those problems too
but please dont make these exceptions ur excuse or everyday routine
y in every wudu thread i have to read that u can do wudu without water so its ok if u dont use water ???
its not ok to make sumthing an excuse for not doing wudu properly
when water i savailable u have to use it
u cant perform wudu with dust wen water i savailable to u
and the nailpolish issue is also very clear too i dont know y u ppl make lil thing sa headche
when its clearly said that water shud wash the parts of ur body that r fard for wudu then it shud
so no wudu isnt valid if u perform it with nail polish cus water cant reach the nails which r part of ur hand and hands r one of those parts that r fard to be washe while performing wudu
