I know that it isn’t required for girls to pray in jamaat but I find the idea beautiful. My daughters get exposed to jamaat in the masjid behind the Imam at least once a day but other times, we encourage them to pray behind their dad.
Personally, I feel that practice makes perfect, jamaat teaches seriousness and discipline, brings unity in a family, and most importantly, brings submission.
my bhabhi and I used to pray Jammat together. There are more blessings/sawab in jammat, so if she's praying in one room and I'm praying in the other, might as well pray together.
hubby and I sometimes pray in Jammat together well.
again, the family the prays together, stays together.
^ I agree. My husband's family is pretty strict regarding praying in Jamat, and I came from a family where we (i.e. the women) prayed on our own when at home. So it was definitely something new for me to see the whole family praying together. I personally really like it, and insha'Allah we'll continue once we have kids. I do think it will help kids get in the habit of praying at an earlier age than if left alone.
We had come into the habit of praying in jamaat at home but for reasons of modesty, since not all the ladies would always be praying (), the practice fell apart for a daily routine. We tend to fall back into praying by jamaat during ramzan.
I definitely agree with you on the discipline and unity portion…it is like ensuring that the family has meals together…brings us closer.
