So if one were to perform his prayer before the scheduled time, does one have to repeat it? e.g., Fajr prayer is at 5:20 and I mistakenly perform it at 5:00, do I have to repeat it or will it be accepted?

Proof...?
Quran 4:103
Salaat hath been enjoined on the believers at fixed time
so before or after is not accepted....

Agreed, that the times are afixed for all prayers, but what if one prays early before its fixed time by mistake? Is that prayer considered null and void?
yes....
if u agree that salaat is to be peroformed on a FIXED time then before or after makes it null and void....
praying after is called QAZAA....
praying early is, in my opinion, not accepted otherwise i'd pray all 5 when i get up in the morning....
If you find out that you prayed earlier by mistake, you must repeat it if you figure it out soon enough. If you figure it out too late, you must say qaza.
If you never find out that in fact you prayed before it was time, then you need not worry.

"after" is not accepted? If that were true, then what is "qaza"?
Yes, salah should be performed at their right time. But if you forget or are unable to perform at the right time, then you should pray as soon as you can, and Allah is surely the most Beneficial and most Merciful. Its wrong to assume it will not be accepted.

suppose i have to go somewhere at 4pm in the evening and i know that my asar will be qaza in that case can i pay namaz at 4pm (at present asar time is 4:50 pm) ?
^ I am not a scholar, so take the response with a fair bit of salt, but I don't think you can offer salah earlier. You should make an effort to pray at the right time or later.

Thanks .
it looks like qaza is preferable than offering nemaz a bit earlier.
Reminds me when I was in Pakistan, I was having high fever and feeling really sick and I woke up and looked at my digital watch and thought it was time for Fajr namaz. And so I got up and did wuzu prayed my wajib namaz and sat down to read surah Yaseen. I was happy when I was getting up that despite that I m feeling so sick I had managed to pray my Fajr but when I was about to leave the room to go out. I saw the clock in the room which said it was 3 something I wanted to faint I couldn’t believe my eyes. Itnee mushkhil say uth kay mein na namaz parhee and i actually realised that I had looked at the timer of my watch and NOT the time.
So I went back to sleep feeling dumb and angry and had a bad night and when the actual time came (I think I waited to hear the azaan) I got up and did the same and finished my namaz.
Thinking back now I don’t know how I managed it coz I learnt later in the day after visiting the doctor that I had typhoid.
But it never crossed my mind that i didn’t have to repeat it ![]()
if i m not mistaken, in travel situations if you will be a traveler in shariah terms, you can combine duhr and asr, and maghrib and isha togther. this is the view of salafi scholars. i m at colg now will find the fatwa and post it inshallah.
but there is not "qaza" other than praying the missed salat before the next due salah.. we cant miss fajr and pray it with isha, rather pray fajr when ever we wake up,
wallah o alam.
for all your replies guys…
