Sheena (“Sheenie-weenie”) is our loyal, faithful and loving yellow lab, a member of our family for 11 years. She is very sick, not sure if she’s going to make it. If its her time, please pray for her peaceful passing…if we are to be granted more time with her, please pray for speedy recovery.

update! Sheena is much better!!! She has a huge lypoma on her shoulder. It got really huge and last night, it burst! It must have become infected. :(
She is able to get to her feet and walk on her own now!!

Thanks everyone! Yes, it was really hard on the boys, esp middle son. He was sobbing last night when he saw all the drainage from her lypoma, he thought she was dying. But I told him that it was the sickness coming out of her and that this means she will get better. He was ok after that. But its going to be really tough on him when it comes time for our pets to go. They do understand the circle of life and kind of the concept of heaven because we lost my dad and also our beloved grouchy old cat Oscar. I'll tell them on occasion when they do something especially wonderful that Grandpa is SO proud and smiling down on them from heaven. It will be so hard to lose a loved one - canine or otherwise. All we can do is pray for the best, answer their questions as best we can and help them be prepared when the time comes.
Thankfully, it looks like its not Sheena's time yet! She's at the vet now, they will surgically drain the absess and give her more IV antibiotics and she should be even better by the time I pick her up this afternoon!

Pets are family members and often provide care and love when we humans are unable to.
