I was told to read two nafal hajat(?) on the day of my nikkah.

I wouldn't be getting married if the dude was interested in the hijabi culture.

Keep reciting dua in surah furqan ayah no. 74
Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa zurriyatina qurrata ayunin Ameen

Second what muniya said..also ask Allah to put mawwadah amd rehmah between you and your spouse. May Allah make you and your spouse source of comfort and tranquility fir eachother and may you find peace spritualy, physically and mentally from eachother and may Allah protect you and your spouse from evil eyes and every evil between heaven and earth and shaitan and also protect you two from evil inside ownself Ameen

And i advice you to recite surah rehman to know that nikah is also the greatest blessing and Allah many times ask in the surah so which of the favour of your Lord will ye deny?
