Im not sure if this post has been sent, but I found out I am pregnant yesterday and I wanted to know if they are any duas/rituals/prayers you can do whilst you are pregnant for the safety and wellbeing of your child.
I have heard if you read Durood Shareef as many times as possible, this will make your baby healthy, give you strength during your pregnancy and provide all sorts of support for you.
Ritual wise, I have also heard if you hang a picture of your husband up, look at it before and after you wake up, your baby turns out to be beautiful.
Can anyone think or knows of any? I know from a healthy point of view, you need to think of what you eat, rest etc but we all need Allah to help us as much as possible.

Im not directing this at you, but what if the father was ugly? Would the baby still be beautiful. I really don't believe in this myth that whoever pregnant lady looks at a lot, the baby will look like that. Just remember to keep up with your namaz and maybe pray extra naffal, also read Quran everyday if you can.
while we are on praying and duas during pregnancy .. how do u ladies pray with a huge tummy .. is it not harmful for the baby to be doing sajda and all ????

No, it's not harmful....but if someone finds it hard to do sajda with a big belly then she can read salaat while sitting on a chair and then she can do sajda on the table by only bending her head.
hi Afro - I do agree with you comment - this seems more of a myth to me than anything - I do think that most wifes who are in pure love with their husbands do think they are the most beautiful men in the world - my husband does happen to be good looking but I still think he beats any man in the world -
hes gorgeous to me than anything but yeh, it doesnt mean that if you look at somthing for long lenghts of time, your baby will turn out like that....
Yeah I agree- im going to try to pray everyday - its hard though to be a full-time career woman, a wife and inshallah if Allah wills it, a mother and try to follow your prayers vigorously.
Work it out.....okay i was joking....it's just a made up thing to look at father's picture...i think you should look at every beautiful thing in real life like trees, flowers, birds etc and listen to the beautiful sounds and recite Qur'an or sing rhymes....it can be good for the baby as he can hear you after you th month.

Some days when i am really swollen or the round ligament pain is really bad, i do my namaz sitting on the couch. It feels wierd but what else to do.

Namaz is the best exercise possible for you during pregnancy. Its slow, relaxing and keeps the pelvic area moving - which is what you want for a fast labour!
Daily exercise is imperative. It doesn't need to be strenuous but it should be consistent. Namaaz gives us all the flexibility to all our muscles to promote strong contractibility during labour. Women pay so much money for yoga classes during pregnancy to help have a fast labour - isn't namaaz just like yoga? :)
Don't sit and pray, even in the last month. Be strong! Even when I was 9 months pregnant, I prayed normally the whole way through. It was tiring and it would take me longer to read namaaz - but my labour was around 20 mins from point of water breaking and it was because of all this gentle exercise from namaaz. :)
I also read entire Quran and recited the beautiful surah maryam daily.
