Lets salute the courage of all policemen who gave their lives to save the visiting Srilankan team and lets pray for their souls. According to reports they surrounded the bus and acted as shield to protect the players. Hats off to their bravery and courage.

police in pakistan is generally villified (and for good reasons), but these events deserve to bring some sheen to their image. hopefully they will be honoured for their conduct
Those brave security personnel and the bus driver are the true heroes in this sad and unfortunate incident. The bus driver deserves a special medal for his quick thinking and presence of mind in a seemingly hopeless situation. Luckily he escaped those random bullets and was able to manoeuvre the bus to safety. otherwise it could have been an even worse bloodbath
And it goes without saying the dead jawans deserve special medals for their immense courage and bravery in a hapless situation

Very true. After the immediate hype the families are left to fend for themselves. These people would be the sole bread winner for their families. Government of Pakistan should go beyond the hype and offer immediate employment to one family member. Many people would promise the moon to these martyrs, but very few promises are kept. Hence it is most important that appropriate measures are taken to see that the families do not suffer in the long run. True this loss cannot be compensated but the financial burden should be eased.
