Pray the Sunnah and Nawaafil at home and the obligatory prayer in the mosque

The Superiority of Praying The Voluntary Prayers In The House

Zaid bin Thabit (May Allah be pleased with him)reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “O people! perform your (voluntary) Salat (prayers) in your homes because the best Salat of a man is the one he performs at home, except the obligatory Salat.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Ibn 'Umar reported Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) as saying:

Pray in your houses, and do not make them graves. [Sahih Muslim]

The Prophet (PBUH) said: “The voluntary prayer of a man (in a place) where no person can see him equal to twenty-five times his prayer where people can see him.”

Recorded by Musnad Aboo Yaâala, Hadeeth 3821.
**
The Prophet (PBUH) said: “The superiority of the prayer of a man in his house over his prayer (in a place) so that people can see him, is like the superiority of the obligatory prayer over the voluntary.”**

Saheeh At-Targeeb Wa At-Tarheeb, The Book Of Desiring to Pray The Voluntary Prayers in the House, Hadeeth 438.

Re: Pray the Sunnah and Nawaafil at home and the obligatory prayer in the mosque

jazaak Allah for the aHaadees.

my dad practiced it in his life. i remember he would say his sunna at home before leaving for masjid and pray his sunna at home after returning from the Masjid. it wasn't a hard and fast rule for him. he sometimes prayed in Masjid as well. since he used to lead prayers 5 times a day, my dad made sure not to be late and make the muqtadees wait for him. it never happened what i can remember.

i do the same thing when i go on vacation to India.
