Practising Islam in short shorts

Extract from the article (link below)

" I stopped obsessing about the small things and my new mantra was “Al-'amal bil niyat,” which means actions are dependent on their intentions. My other mantra was “Al deen yusr,” which translates to religion is ease.

Exploring and wandering gave me the tools I needed to critically look at the hypocrisy of the 'ulama’a (Islamic elites/scholars/clerics). I realized that I did not have to practice my religion from the point of view of a largely misogynistic group of people. Two years ago, I denounced most hadith (prophetic traditions and sayings), fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) and tafseer (interpretation) because these three things, all of which play a huge part in how Islam is practiced today, are filtered through the perspective of Muslims born into normalized extreme patriarchy."

Such kind of Muslims?
Practicing flexibility in Islam or rather following faith instead of the rulings of Islam?
Are u one such Muslim?

Practicing Islam in Short Shorts

Thanks!

Re: Practising Islam in short shorts

i KNOW one thing and that is:

fit your life style in Islam and don’t fit Islam in your life.

these so called ‘raushan Khayaal’ aazaad log Islam se khilvaaR kar ke apnii hii 'aaqibat KHaraab kia bal k barbaad kar rahe haiN aur dusroN kii bhii…in sab ma’soomeen jo gumraah hoNge unkaa bhii gunaah aise logoN ke sar aan paReNge jo aisii Ghair Islami jiddat taraash kar laate haiN…

…aise hii log haiN jo chand sikkoN ke liye apnaa iimaan bech kar aaKhirat meN apne saare Hisse kho baiThte haiN…mujhe to aise logoN par taras aataa hai…

..may Allah guide them…aameen!

Re: Practising Islam in short shorts

Peace ShimmerV,

I won’t going to say nothing about such kind of Muslim but I would like to say that whenever I look at my past, I see myself doing this (don’t wish to follow Ulema, fiqh, tafseer etc.,) b’coz I thought I can practice my religion at best without them/these, but I was wrong. A Malaysian student whom I met few years back told me that your knowledge is black & white knowledge which is not only danger for your but to all those who lives around you. He suggested me to pick any fiqa book, read and try to understand what is Islam.

Without Ulema, Fiqh, Tafseer, Hadith, our knowledge will be zero about Islam.

Re: Practising Islam in short shorts

The first thing that comes to mind is:

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلَاكَ بِهِ وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلًا

Perhaps I’ll say more later.

I have no opinion on such Muslims, Allah is for everyone, and He is the best judge. I am His creature and judging His other creature is not my responsibility.

Practicing flexibility in Islam or rather following faith instead of the rulings of Islam?
First strengthen faith, then rulings of Islam. Rulings of Islam are not limited to worship. There are many other rulings which do not require you to worship.

Are u one such Muslim?
I don’t know. Such Muslim may be good in the eyes of Creator while I may not.

Re: Practising Islam in short shorts

in the light of what you said in bolded bit, why would Allah always use these two injections in Qur’aan ALL the time? what are those two injunctions? they are:

amr bil ma’roof WA nahii anil munkar
[enjoin good and forbid bad]

there is also a Hadees that says [mafhoom] that if you see something bad happening, stop it. if you can’t stop [because you don’t have authority], speak up against it and if you can’t even speak up then feel bad in your heart about it…and, this is the lowest level of iimaan.

think about it!
