As you all know polygamy is illegal in Western countries. But still many Muslim males manage to practice it. Some have one wife in Pakistan for example and some do not register their other nikah with the authorities if they marry a second women in West.
On their adjustment of status applications they say under oath that they do not practice polygamy. Does this oath invalidate their nikah ?
Re: Practicing polygamy in West.
Do what mormans do.
Re: Practicing polygamy in West.
don't know about the invalidation of nikah but its wrong morally and i would argue religiously.
Re: Practicing polygamy in West.
I would go and ask an Imam or a real scholar. The issue is complex since it involves Shari'ah and the laws of the area you live in. No one here can give you a correct answer.
Re: Practicing polygamy in West.
no it would not invalidate their nikah however, they are lying clearly which falls under Islam, and subsequently ethics & Law.
