Joking joking. STP and PG know that how much I respect them and only reason I argue with them is because their arguments are full of wisdom and substance. Its a great way of picking the brains of positive people.

I haven't gone through all the replies, so I'm not sure where you're distinguishing the appearance and action. From what I understand, the beard for men and hijab for women is part of the practice. Anyhow, as far as appearance goes, I've found it helps in the practice aspect as well. For instance, by appearing Muslim, I'm exempt from doing any team building or networking stuff that would involve a bar/alcohol environment. Whenever I have to interact with women for work purposes, they avoid extending their hand. So it has definitely come in handy.
