I don’t have any close hijabi friends but I have nothing against them at all (or those who choose to wear the burqa).. I honestly just don’t come across many (I could literally count on one hand the number of hijabis I had seen in my whole life till I moved to near London) and in my family only two women wear it (just my mum and one of her sisters).. Like I said I have NO problem with hijab and believe in a woman’s right to dress how she chooses..

I will admit I sometimes get nervous I see a group of desi hijabis in London I tend to keep my head down or even cross over.. Yeah, it’s a bit pathetic.. I was actually going to blog about this the other day

I know what you mean. I wear the headscarf but when I come across a women who wear burqa/abaya I feel intimidated. I think it’s my own weaknesses that make me feel like that and not because I have a grudge against them or they did something.
