Exactly the problem I am talking about. you are mixing expectations with love. Expecting something from someone should not be linked to love and similarly, loving someone should not be linked to expectations.
If in return of love, you expect someone to fulfill some of your expectation, you are doing business not love.
So you mean to say, there should be no expectations when you are in love.
Wives having lots of expectations and demands from their husband do not love them. Right?

For example; Islam states that marriages should be based on compatibility and that love develops after marriage.
Not necessarily.. It does recognise that it's also possible to fall in love before marriage..
