PPP has won only one seat in punjab (seraiki areas), which was won by the governors brother. Am I missing something?
The people there were very critical about PMLNs opposition to seraiki province.

I am dumbfounded. After the spectacular performance over the last 5 years and great sacrifices for the nation, I was expecting a landslide win in Punjab for PPP.
I am sure that the stupid people of Punjab would miss the services of great Raja Pervez Ashraf. Who else could take us out of the darkness?
I think people of Punjab also vote for ethnicities. PPP should field Punjabi candidates in Punjab in the next elections.

Well, reports are gradually coming out about the magnanimity of rigging that went on in Punjab. PML-Ns motive was clear. Eliminate PPP from Punjab, and make sure PTI stalwarts lose in Punjab in order to 'send a message'.
This is a turf war for them, and they have behaved like classic thugs. Otherwise, I see no reason why PPP should not have won 5-10 seats in South Punjab even after a dismal 5 years. These elections reminded me of 1997, times 2.

There was a chance of PTI winning a few seats from there too. Jahangir tareen was declared winner by 20000 votes in the night and loser by 10000 in the morning. Reports are coming out of a seat in dg khan that PTI has won but the results have been withheld. No one was expecting a landslide but still PPP would have won some seats (lesser than 2008).
Ok let's put it this way while PPP lost all seats in seraiki areas, how did they manage to win governors brothers seat? The voting pattern and dynamics in south punjab are different as compared to the remaining province.

Like silaj has mentioned this seems to be the repitition of 1997. I hope the end result is not same. As I want PMLN to complete their tenure so that people can fully judge while voting next time.
