KHAIRPUR: We will hold free and fair elections on time and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will again come to power with a huge majority, said President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday.
Addressing a gathering in Khairpur after four years, Zardari said the PPP’s political struggle will continue but this will not hinder the election schedule.
Stating that his party doesn’t want to come to power through rigged elections, the president said that “we have never accepted rigging of polls and will make sure this doesn’t happen under our governance.”
“Free and fair elections in Pakistan is my promise to you and I know PPP will do well this time as well,” he added.
**He assured the attendees that the democratic government is fully aware of the difficulties faced by the people of Pakistan.
** Commenting on the political tussle between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Zardari said that next time, the “chief minister of Punjab would be a PPP jiyala.”

There is 40-50% chance that PPP might win the elections, earlier these chances were in single digit, but thanks to the establishment and other egoistic opposition parties, we might continue to suffer for another 5 years...
There is also a possibility that PPP may come in the govt in Punjab as well, so the people of Punjab must be ready for the target killings they hear in Karachi & Quetta and then enjoy the statment of Rehman Malik saying everything is under control and killing is because of the girl-friends...
Target killings in Quetta happen because the Baloch have been denied their rights for 65 years something Punjab does not have to worry about.
It was the PPP who sorted the MQM out originally. We can only thank Musharaf for the MQM showing its true colours again after what happened in 2007. We can blame the PPP for not dealing with them properly this time again though. The MQM were created to combat the PPP by the military. Once again Punjab wont have to go through this.

And killings of police officials and other govt. employees in naxalite areas of India occurs because the naxalites have been denied their rights as well.
And the ground situation is that due to loadshedding the houses of ppp parliamentarians are being attacked in Punjab, Nadeem afzal chan and one other guy has threatened to quit of its not sorted out. And in KP due to war on terror PPP and ANP cannot openly conduct their jalsas, in this situation maybe angels can help them win the elections.
PPP will not gain clear power but Zardari is confident for two reasons.
a) his reconciliation policy has worked like a charm and with the help of his trusted partners in crime q league and jui, he will form the Govt despite no clear majority
b) his trusted vote bank in sindh is in tact despite whatever suffering people go through. Literacy rate in Pakistan is extremely low and will be kept such for the foreseeable future so that people dont gain enough shaoor to vote outside bhutto.

The supposition of PPP winning is that the right vote will cancel each other out and PPP will get enough votes to win power, if they are able to get that much votes they deserve to win.
The seats that PPP got in the previous elections are as follows:
PMLN virtually had control of LAhore, gujranwala, Sialkot and all of northern Punjab. PPP was the winner in central Punjab (Faisalabad, gujranwala, sahiwal, okara) 14 seats to PPP as compared to PMLNs 5, now this is the same area which has been hit really bad by the loadshedding (31 seats here) and then we have south Punjab where candidates matter more than parties PPP won 22 seats out of 50. The fight would be in south Punjab, which will determine the next PM. If the seraiki card works then it will be PPP in this election.
I hope the government goes to polls with the same level of loadshedding, not that I expect them to resolve this crisis that they couldn't in four and a half years.
Comparison to performance of opposition:) This is relative term not absolute.
opposition is not running the country. they are not in majority government. Instead of fixing problems, I dont get why PPP just loves to blame other parties. this blame game is not going to get us anywhere. this is just really childish. yes, opposition performance has not been upto the mark. but what good PPP has done in last four and half years.?
see , 44% of the Votes are fakes , someone else controls them .
so the real factor is not PUBLIC VOTE ... but those 44% Ghost votes ...whoever controls them , gets the result of his liking ....
All other do a futile exercise of deceiving themselves..
