LAHORE: Nahid Khan and Dr Safdar Abbasi have launched a new PPP faction – Pakistan People’s Party Workers (PPP-W).
Mr Abbasi was elected its first president through a resolution at the workers convention at Awan-i-Iqbal here on Wednesday. Earlier, the disgruntled couple of PPP had launched the Bhutto Shaheed Benazir Workers Movement. Know more: Benazir’s birth anniversary unveils cracks within PPP
Speaking on the occasion, Safdar Abbasi said the diehard PPP workers needed a new platform to continue their political activities. “We will now contest the next elections from this platform,” he said.
He said since the PPP had stopped following the vision of Z.A Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, it lost the last election badly. He said Nahid Khan was fighting the case of PPP’s registration in the Islamabad High Court and the workers were behind her.
Nahid Khan said many PPP leaders including Asif Ali Zardari were hiding behind Bilawal Bhutto instead of facing the workers. She said Bilawal was the son of Shaheed Benazir and he should not follow the style of his father’s politics.
“PPP is a party of federation. Bilawal will have to decide whether he has to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and mother or carry the heavy luggage of last seven years of the party,” she said.
Nahid Khan further said: “Iif Bilawal needs our support we are ready to stand by him. But he needs to purge the party of opportunists.” She said the workers did not demand jobs but self-respect from the leadership. She said in the convention those workers were present who faced dictatorship and underwent imprisonment. “The PPP leadership had forgotten them. Sajida Mir, Sardar Hur Bokkhari, Gen (retired) Ahsan Ahmed, Nasir Khatak, Waqas Ahmed, Ibn-e-Rizvi and Fayaz Khan also spoke. A large number of workers from Kashmir and Gilgit Biltistan also attended the convention.
Haha. And Jiyalas was jumping up and down with joy thinking PTI is ‘turmoil’. Now what is this? I wonder why none of them reported in this page, this is a pretty big news for ‘real’ PPP supporters.
Now it is confirmed that Bilawaja Bhutto is quite* manhoos,* since his farcical coronation ceremony, the very next MQM decided to leave their government, this stupid Sindhi nationalist and his ramblings have kick started MQM’s campaign for Muhajil province. Furthermore, a new fraction has emerged in PPP sucking in the real workers of PPP, and this is just a beginning. I feel sorry for poor hopeless Jiyalas who think this young Zardari bean is their saviour. This clown is literally the last nail in PPP’s coffin.
Jiyalas who sees Baby Bambino as grandson need to open up their eyes and get a reality check. Bhutto romance is long over, for good.
By the way, the main PPP should be renamed PPP-W as well. One W would stand to represent PPP-Waderas, and second W would represent PPP-Workers. Make it easier for normal public to understand.

He may be corrupt and ineligible, but he was the last man standing, completed the first five year tenure and is still living in Pakistan. I cant remember anyone from any party who after ruling for a short time could stay in Pakistan without getting stuck in cases of every kind. Both NS and BB lived in self exile, and so did Mush. If PPP-W has restrictions over his operating procedure they should at least realize that a lot can be learned from this cunning politician. If you read different articles, it is known that PPP and PMLN have understanding of taking turn (for some time) for govt but emergence of PTI as challenger has become a pain for them. Because of this understanding PPP did not launch any 'corruption' cases against PMLN leadership and now PMLN is returning the same favor.

Is there any restriction on PTI chief IK to do the this work? Instead of doing dharna, dance drama etc, he should pursue corruption cases in the courts and in the parliament. But he will not do it perhaps he himself is somehow involved in corruption and chandah khori.
Bollocks. As if there are not enough corruption cases against the looter PPP leader Zardari and fraud Minster Nawaz Sharif? What's the update on those cases? Exactly. This typical deflecting twaddle won't fool the people anymore. If the courts were independent and powerful enough to punish all those PPP and Nawaz League mafia criminals and murderers, they would've done so long time ago.
Courts themselves are highly politicized, it is a level playing field with all equally corrupt leaders, muscling their influence to get the rival trapped. So in the end it doesn't makes difference. Chief Justice appointments to case registration are all through political influence. The brilliance lies in steering marginally clear from all these cases which in my opinion Zardari has done very efficiently. With the latest Model Town case registered against PMLN there is no way he is gonna stay in Pakistan without settling a deal, or he is gonna follow the old tradition of living in self exile. It is IK's first term as a provincial government and Im not gonna be surprised if a number of cases against him are filed at the end of his tenure.
