Even though a full operation is suggested by federal govt, jerk ass provincial ministers like Zulfiqar Mirza and and Wasan are against operation in Liyari, but still want to go ahead with the rest of the city cleanup.
Now please tell me that this is not going to create more hatred against govt and more soft corner towards MQM, in the heart of the people who are only border line supporters of MQM. And then people ask why Karachites support MQM. Its because others come and stab them at their back and they see no solution but to turn towards MQM

Actually it is an attempt to bring MQM back to life in Karachi... they have been badly effected with the marriage and divorce over the years and now the massacre....

Thats why Zulfiqar Mirza didn't want Rahman Malik to come to Karachi until "things are settled", perhaps he wants to take charge of cleanup. If he does actually take charge then he will simply replace MQM terrorism with PPP and ANP terrorism. Though I heard today that Rahman Malik was in town and surgical operations have started in Lyari, Orangi Town etc.

btw, doing such an operation will only increase the support for MQM and nothing else. ZM first tried to play Haqiqi card but he failed in that and now he wants to play operation card.
Cleanup operation is good but it has to be uniform and across Karachi.

As Captain1 said, operations have already begun in Lyari.

Will you post criticism against the MQM Governor when he opposes an operation in Lalukhet?
I dont think that was the main point of OP. TLK was telling what ZM is for. Of course sanely, Govt has decided to do operation in whole Karachi (after ignoring/rejecting ZM's point)
