PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir

By M.B. Kalhoro

LARKANA, Dec 12: The chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) Ghinwa Bhutto and the president of Larkana chapter of Pakistan Muslim League (Q) Haji Altaf Unnar joined hands against Benazir Bhutto on Wednesday and reached a seat-adjustment accord for a number of key national and provincial assembly seats.

Haji Altaf Hussain Unnar announced seat adjustments with PPP-SB for NA-204 (Larkana-1) and PS-36 (Larkana City) after a brief meeting with Ms Ghinwa at Al-Murtaza House.

According to the agreement, Babu Sarwar Siyal of PML-Q would withdraw papers in favour of Ms Ghinwa Bhutto for NA-204 while Farooque Bhutto of PPP-SB would take back papers in favour of PML-Q candidate Altaf Ansari for PS-36 (Larkana-City). Benazir Bhutto has also filed papers for NA-204.

The PPP-SB announced that the party would support Amir Bakhsh Bhutto, the central vice-chairman of the Sindh National Front (SNF) for PS-37, Abdul Rafi of PML-F for PS-38 and Sardar Chandio of PML-Q for PS-39 (Qambar). The candidates were running against PPP’s Ayaz Soomro, Haji .Munwar Ali Abbasi and Ghulam Mujadid Isran, respectively.

Ms Ghinwa and Mr Unnar said that they had joined hands to fight against PPP chairperson for NA-204. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, former leader of opposition in Sindh assembly, would now face joint candidate of PPP-SB and PML-Q Altaf Ansari for PS-36.

Ms Ghinwa, meanwhile, criticised the government for backing an Israeli resolution in the United Nations and termed Pakistan’s support uncalled for. It would be tantamount to lending support to the state of Israel, she added.

It seems BB is running scared of Ghinwa?

Benazir may take back papers for NA-204

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

So how many seats did PPP[Ghinva group] win in the last 4 elections?

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

Did you read the article whose link you posted?

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

PML(Q) needs tonga parties to join them, after all at the rate people are abandoning them they wont have any candidates left by election day. :rotfl:

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

Alhamdulilallah. At the PPP and PML are falling apart, MQM will be the biggest Party.

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

So did Ghinva Butto win in the last 2 elections? lol

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

LOL, a few weeks after PPP gets a million people to greet its leader in Karachi, it is all of a sudden falling apart.

NS gets more people to its rallies than Mush ever did.....and that's without paying them or forcing them to attend, like Mush does.

Falling apart? Rather wishful thinking from some

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

Bhaijan, with so much support why is BB desperate to make deals with MQM and the so-called dictator. Surely, BB can't be that desperate. :D

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

She’s not.

Nice try :k:

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

BB will have to make deals with everyone to get a share of power - MQM in Sindh, JUI (Fazlur) in NWFP, and PML Q in Punjab at the federal level. Most of all she will have to make the great deal with President Musharraf. :)

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

1 less than Imran Khan/PTI :)
although they did won one seat in 1997
so its a tie between these parties over the last decade.

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

LOL. So the so-called champion of democracy is having to make deals with parties that are allegedly bad for Pakistan, in addition to making a deal with the so-called dictator. :)

That's democracy for you - BB style. :D

Re: PPP (SB), PML (Q) unite against Benazir.

PPP (SB) also won 2 Sindh Assembly seats in 1997.
Imran's PTI won 1 assembly in NWFP in 2002.

So PPP (SB) is ahead, just about. :)
