PPP - PMLN partnership broken

NRO pact - more of a tool to safeguard corruption as compared to democracy was signed with a lot of fanfare. The two main parties claimed that they’ll stand by each other during testing times. It seems as if Raheel sharif has broken the partnership. PMLN wants to keep relationship with PPP intact but with the passage of time it’s becoming difficult for them to keep it going. PPP and MQM are already on the receiving end. Obviously there are corruption cases of PMLN members too, NAB is not acting against the ruling party presently. With the passage of time action will be taken against the rulers and their cronies. If would be easier to target PMLN alone. What are your thoughts on this?

Re: PPP - PMLN partnership broken

If you start probing corruption committed by the two main parties democracy is threatened. PPP offer support to PMLN if democracy is threatened. Khursheed Shah offers support to PM for sake of democracy - The Express Tribune

Re: PPP - PMLN partnership broken

The partnership is still well and alive - it's just more exposed than broken.

Both PPP and PMLN rather swap terms and have each other as friendly opposition than face a genuine opposition by a third party.

The only difference is that PPP is beginning to feel more vulnerable in this marriage of convenience as PMLN only needs to worry about Punjab to rule Pakistan for another three generation whereas Punjab was PPP's real lifeline.

You can clearly see difference of attitude towards PMLN from old PPP workers like Aitzaz and cronies of Zardari, i.e Khurshid Shah.

PPP would definitely consider striking a deal with PMLN for Bilawal's premiership in a 'coalition' government as a payback for being a friendly opposition, or partners rather .
