PPP new Victim Card

Is it a political stunt considering the nearing elections?

Benazir assassination: Malik vows to bring Musharraf to Pakistan – The Express Tribune

****KARACHI: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, abiding by his promise, revealed the investigation report of the murder of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto in the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday, and vowed to bring then president Pervaiz Musharraf back to the country.
The minister said that Musharraf has been declared a proclaimed offender in the case on the grounds that the VVIP security status entitled to Benazir Bhutto was deliberately denied. “We will issue a red notice and involve Interpol to bring back Musharraf to the country.”

“The then CPO Abdul Aziz is also being held responsible for the deliberate destruction of evidences,” he added.

The minister revealed that the same Taliban group which has been held responsible in the investigation report is also responsible for carrying out several other attacks on Benazir Bhutto in the past. “Wherever Mohtarma went for her rallies, the suspects left their remnants at those places where they tried to kill her. There was an element of the TTP [Tehreek-i-Taliban] everywhere. The main accused in the case not only planned but also conspired and executed the whole plan.”

He also revealed that terrorist Saeed Bilal, with the help of Qari Ismail, carried out the suicide bomb on Benazir’s rally on October 18. “Before leaving for the attack, Saeed changed his clothes to merge into the gathering. The DNA samples retrieved from his body parts after the attack matched with the DNA samples collected from the clothes at his house.”

**He pointed out that the investigations took a long time to complete as it usually takes time to collect circumstantial proof. “It is not just important to find out the implementers, but also see who planned the whole attack.”
**

The minister added that the case is in trial and 13 witness prosecutions had been done in the case.

Commending Benazir Bhutto’s courage, he said that many fake cases were initiated against the former prime minister but still she opted for
reconciliation with the then president and decided to come to the country.

“In the presence of Mark Siegel, Musharraf threatened her: If you come to Pakistan before the elections, you will be responsible for the consequences. If you come to Pakistan before the elections, I will not be responsible for our security.

But she said: General, the decision to come to Pakistan is mine, not yours,” Malik said.

Chief Investigator of Benazir Bhutto murder case Khalid Qureshi revealed to the Sindh Assembly that Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud was responsible for the planning and execution of the attack on Benazir Bhutto.

He said that the people recruited to carry out the task were all trained in the Haqqania madrassa in South Waziristan.

“On December 20, in room no. 11 of Haqqania madrassa, Baitullah Maisood gave money to carry out the task.”

All the suspects of the attack were traced after the main accused Hasnain Gul one day mistakenly called his landline number in Rawalpindi. “All terrorists have strict instructions of not calling any landline number,” Qureshi said.

**
On other hand, Bakhtawar Zardarai** tweeted, ‘why Naheed Abbasi did not stand alongwith BB’ and CM Sindh (finally) ordered investigation for Karsaaz case.

:hmmm: so whats going on… Is it simply the case of reminding voters that we did not perform, but we did gave sacrifices.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Lol!

PPP never ceases to amuse the global crowd with their latest, greatest, shananigans! Interpol doesn't conduct inter-country operations. Rehman Malik needs to issue the arrest warrant for prime suspect that's in the country right now. Take the kingpin down, the pods'll follow.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

hhahaha.......idiot........ NOTHING he said was what wasn't already known......

Re: PPP new Victim Card

I didn't find anything new, did I miss something? Only one thing can be said that in which he claimed that the planners had studied in madrasah haqqania.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

I won't call it victim card, i would call it sharp move to bring back the loyals of PPP back in the election year... once the vote is casted then to the hell with BB and Mushy and voters.. another 5 years of looting

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Bakhtawar, I hope you have had the guts to ask your own father some of the more difficult questions regarding your mother's death as well. Any news on murder of the security chief of Bilawal House? Did he know too much? Have a chat with your father. Naheed Abbasi did not stand alongwith BB, because she had some common sense. BB defied common sense and logic when she stuck out of the SUV.

Of course any one aware of PPP's modus ope***** knows that this is nothing but an election year stunt. Bringing a dead person into the mix always softens people, specially a woman.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Yes nothing new, but this time RM gave briefing to Sindh Assembly at the time when Bakhtawar tweeted about Naheed Abbasi and CM Sindh show seriousness about Karsaaz issue, so its again a game to gain some sympathy votes.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Hum BB shaheed ki qabar ka trial nahin honay daen gay!!(Regarding NRO and writing letter to swiss govt.)

(but will use it for our own purpose).

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Hmm sindh card being used again as the elections are nearing.

ZA Bhutto

The ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had some strong words for the country’s judiciary – past and present – on Tuesday and the one delivering the tirade was none other than the party’s young chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

The heir apparent to the PPP throne even weighed in heavily on the current standoff between the government and judiciary in the prime minister’s contempt case.

Speaking at the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), convened at Naudero on the 33rd death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bilawal plainly asked the Supreme Court to apologise for the “judicial murder” of his grandfather, the former prime minister, in 1979.

“I expect the Supreme Court to finally provide us justice … we expect the Supreme Court to apologise for the role it played in the judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

“The Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto reference case is a golden opportunity for the Supreme Court,” he added. A presidential reference, seeking the reopening of the ZA Bhutto case, is currently being heard in the Supreme Court, but has been delayed for a number of reasons — inviting muted criticism from the PPP.

But Bilawal minced no words on Tuesday.

Though his speech was about the judiciary in general, there were direct messages for the current apex court, and its top adjudicator.

On one occasion, he spoke of how former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had his name cleared from the courts.

**“The Sharifs of Lahore have had their trumped up charges squashed by the courts. I do not believe there will be double standards. I do not believe that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto of Larkana is hanged but he does not get justice from these courts while the Sharifs of Lahore are vindicated.”

Then, he spoke of how the notorious Asghar Khan case, dealing with intelligence agencies’ funding of politicians, was reopened recently – and on whose call.

“Similarly, the Asghar Khan case has finally been taken up by the Supreme Court. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto fought for more than a decade for this case to be heard. It is a positive development that following Imran Khan of Lahore’s demand the case has finally been heard.”

He urged the same treatment for the “Bhuttos of Larkana.”
**
There were some direct questions for the courts – dealing with some contentious decisions.

**“More than 50% of terrorists presented before our courts have been freed. I am told there is a lack of evidence and the fault lies with the prosecution. The rapists of our sister Mukhtara Mai have been freed by the courts. Presumably for the same reasons. How can there be enough evidence to hang SZAB but not enough evidence to keep terrorists and rapists in prison,” he questioned.
**
And then he let loose an even stronger question, referring to the standoff between the government and the Supreme Court over the writing of a letter to Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against his mother and father: “How can there be enough evidence to attempt to try the grave of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto but rapists and terrorists are set free?”

The speech did not relent, and only got stronger.

**“I urge the courts to proceed with caution. I urge the courts to revisit their flawed decision in the Mukhtara Mai case. I urge the court to help keep our country safe by convicting terrorists for the atrocities they have committed. I urge the court to remember how they got where they are today. On May 12, 2007, 40 members of my party lost their lives supporting this chief justice and the cause of an independent judiciary … The courts are dangerously close to repeating the mistakes of the past.

“They should resist the temptation to obey the dictation of the establishment.”**

He continued: “Were our hopes raised for naught? Must we learn the hard way that once a PCO judge always a PCO judge?”

He said that ZA Bhutto’s hanging was not the first nor the last flawed decision of the courts. ”Unfortunately our courts have often stood on the wrong side of history.”

On the Supreme Court’s order to the prime minister to write to Swiss authorities, failing which he could stand disqualified and spend prison time, the ‘chief’ of the PPP also had some orders of his own.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, who is also PPP’s vice-chairman, was told plainly: “We cannot allow the court to dig up my mother’s grave … Mr Prime Minister you will not violate the Vienna Convention, you will not violate the Constitution of Pakistan, you will not desecrate the graves of our martyrs.

“There is not only the Supreme Court, there is also the court of the people and the court of history … Just as Shaheed Bhutto was vindicated, you too shall be vindicated. They can threaten to send Yousaf Raza Gilani of Multan to prison but he is a follower of Bhutto Shaheed. We do not fear prison cells. We do not fear death cells.

**He once again referred to “double standards” – “Let us pray … that Shaheed Bhutto of Sindh was hanged but another prime minister from Punjab is freed. That Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto fought in every court in this country and around the world to maintain her innocence. While a former prime minister from Punjab, a self-confessing, convicted accused is vindicated, but Shaheed BB is put on trial from her grave. That a prime minister who ransacked the Supreme Court is given better treatment over our Seraiki-speaking prime minister who obeys the Constitution and presents himself before the court is stripped of his constitutional rights.”
**
**And for good measure, he repeated: “We will get justice. If not now. If not by this court. We will be vindicated in the courts of history. The people have spoken. We are all agreed. ‘Hum Benazir Bhutto Shaheed ki Qabar ka trial nahi honay den gay’”
**
Meanwhile the CEC also unanimously passed a resolution expressing full confidence over the leadership of its Co-Chairman, President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

i don't know why they bother with ''cards''..........their vote bank of idiotic mentally impaired poeple will keep voting.........

Re: PPP new Victim Card

they need these kind of slogans to keep their constituency in Sindh, and secondly like making speeches that they want to help the people in resolving loadshedding but the SC is not allowing that. These things are enough to quieten their constituency.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

And who is responsible for this. What had PPP's opponents done for them?

Re: PPP new Victim Card

nothing.......... but the extent of torture that pppp does to general public and its own workers (floods in sindh)........ the voters could at least refrain from voting.......

i guess the reason is the jahiliat and nothing else.....

Re: PPP new Victim Card

I agree with you that no one has done anything for them.

But seriously do you think if PPP has done some work for them, as at the end of it its their own constituency and they have held power in the province for a long time.

Have they done anything for their people or its only slogans and cards?

Re: PPP new Victim Card

I don’t support PPP, but they have vote bank in Sindh, not due to jihaalat of people, but their majboori. PPP at least deliver 1% there. In all other tenures, people feel neglected by other parties.

Recently I talked to a colleague who belonged to Khairpur and he told that Qaim Ali Shah did good work for his constituency including development of roads, parks, libraries and opening branches of reputed institutes like IBM. If we count this as 1% by Qaim Ali Shah, all jahils from his constituency will be tempted to vote him :hoonh:

Re: PPP new Victim Card

ok fair enough!

Twice I think PMLN has been in power in Sindh but since they had come by wheeling/dealing therefore they would have spent their tenure by being blackmailed by their members I guess.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

let me clear one thing…i wasn’t talking about sindhis specifically…i have myself met many punjabi jialas here in lahore… and my statement was for all of them too…

can you tell us what did the PPP poeple from south punjab did ?? (before current gillani govt)?
PPP always won from south punjab region…and it has been underdeveloped … and they will continue to vote regardless…

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Another thing, how do you compare the development during this government of Sindh and the previous one (Ghulam Arbab Raheem)?

As i feel that more work was done in Chaudharies time (although I have never liked them) then now in Punjab.

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Exactly.

Some people will never give credit for PPP, no matter what they do. As if previous govts have delivered anything

Jealous people hate that PPP is Pakistan’s most popular party

Re: PPP new Victim Card

Agree, but the thread is about PPP's Sindh card. At any cost, we can't blame voters and get rid of our own responsibilities by calling them Jahil. Be the voters are from rural Sindh, Southern Punjab or Balochistan, they are not to be blamed by us (so called educated class), who just observe their problems on TV screens. Realities are far bitter.

BTW why don't you count Gilani, if he had started some projects for Southern Punjab. We should give credit, where it is due.
