Some Noon League notables have joined PPP recently and the trend seems to continue steadily. While it boggles the mind how one can join the sinking ship of PPP, especially given the fact that the party will seriously suffer in the upcoming elections due to its performance and incumbency factors, one wonders about the logic that is fueling the exodus from Noon League to PPP.
The Sharifs staged a dramatic comeback after being cornered by the PTI as Raiwind successfuly captured the mainstream media and launched an electronic onslaught to create an air wherein the Noon League was shown as already in power. It put the PTI on the backfoot and allowed the Sharifs to create ‘conducive atmosphere’ for the mass migration of turncoats into the Noon League from across the political plains of the country.
While the Sharifs were basking in their laurals, they were caught unaware first by Dr Tahirul Qadri and then by a PPP campaign to do some shopping of its own. It goes without saying that the Sharifs will again shift their media mercenaries in their top gear to halt the PPP surge, but the question mark will still be there on how fast politicians shift their loyalties for their own gain and how stubbornly voters stick to their leaders for their own loss.
