PPP Government (Democracy)

I was looking at other threads and was observing the comments of people who were/are favoring Zardari or PPP or may be any other Party within power now.

I just have a Question.

What has Zardari’s Democratic Government done better than Musharaf’s Government, since it has taken over?

Citizens,
Financials,
Education,
Infrastructure Development.
or may be anything, you may think of…

^^ Corruption!

Re: PPP Government (Democracy)

Why do we have to compare dogs and donkeys and decide which one is better for governing Pakistani PEOPLE?

And if you insist, I believe Zardari government has handled political relations with India and nationalist groups in NWFP and Baluchistan much better than Musharraf. I dread at the thought of an empty-headed-fist-swining general in command when the Mumbai tragedy happened. The present government's response to Indian pressures was much more politically balanced and measured.

Economy, well, against popular belief I think it was destroyed by Mushy's policies. If banks are making huge sums of money (this can easily be seen by profit figures of most banks during that time) it means:

  1. they are lending at higher rates which would lead to massive inflation in coming years and cost of production would sky rocket rendering our products uncompetitive in global markets.
  2. they are giving out meager returns to the savers who turned to real-estate and stock exchanges for better returns and we saw inflation and eventual bursting of those bubbles.

Zardari government, however, has not done much to reverse the trend.

Political stability of the country was in great danger with Swat under Taliban control and Baluch nationalists on rise during mushy's time. The situation was aggravated by senseless use of power in Baluchistan. Things look a bit better now.

That senseless use of power was also tested on judiciary and media. Things are a 'little' bit better under present government in that sense.

The worst thing that can happen in ANY country at ANY time is when you let known criminals roam free in the society. NRO is the biggest, most vicious and deadly crime of Mushy's time. May God keep us and other societies free of such devastating actions of 'senseless leaders'.

Remember:

".....Tum se pichli qomain is liye tabah ho gayi theen ke jab un ka koi chota aadmi chori karta tha to us ke haath kaat detey they lekin jab koi bara aadmi chori karta tha to us ko chor detey they........"

Firstly we cant compare a military dictatorship with demoncratic one - military dictators have much room to do things compared to political govts. who are tied with alliances and political groupings.. Musharaf can be compared with Zia or Ayub Khan only... in both dictatorships billions of $$$$ were taken from USA but were blown in corruption and common peopel didnt got anything...

Secondly, it takes time to clear mess of dictatorship.. present govt with the help of all political parties (37) did a brilliant job by introducing 18th amendment (slashing 17th amendment and 8th) to transfer power to assembly from president.. further, by abolishing concurrent list it did a miracle transferring powers to provinces that they were aspiring for decades..

War against terror in which present govt (with combined political will) and army quashed Taliban killers in Swat arae and are still fighting hard in Wazirstan have sappped all energies of teh govt. but its worthwhile..

If You wont understand military dictatorship and freewill then ur like sslave having good food thrown at u..

Another point to clarify is that its not Zardari's govt now - but he is still chased after by paid media and PP haters.. there is a big difference in post-18th amendment.. he has no power and chief executive is PM now.. Hopefully, with next successive govts Pakistan would emerge stronger..

Thats debateable - with Sreel Mill, Stock Exchange and many others Musharaf tops the list.. plus, USA is still looking for missing Billions $ of aid..

I don't know who is winning, but PPP is trying hard to match the corruption of Mushy Era...

Thanku =]

Do you Even know who started this clean up of Taliban? Wasnt it started in Musharaf era when he was about to leave the government?

^ at that time he was busy killing democratically elected Nawab Bugti - and adding fuel to fire in Balauchistan or selling innocents to USA for $$$$$ as he himdself admitted..

Re: PPP Government (Democracy)

^^ Is that the only thing you got to copy paste?

Re: PPP Government (Democracy)

but then... considering economics, infrastructure, education, and general law and order, the British government was much better than any of the one we've had.

Re: PPP Government (Democracy)

^^ I compared only two of them..

Why can't one compare this government with any other government? Unless you are saying this democracy is piece of sh!t now and has done nothing but f@rts while Mushy was able to achieve (something) because his hands were not 'tied' politicall? In a way, Mushy was better then?

Democracy is the best revenge.

Re: PPP Government (Democracy)

Revenge?

Kis par badla lena hain? :ASA:

Oh right!! Revenge against the national of the country :D

Re: PPP Government (Democracy)

Regardless of it being good or worst than previous administration, this government has to be one of the worst if not the worst thing that ever happened to Pakistan.

The Country is being burnt all over the place.
