People seem to forget that BB has been wanting a a deal with Musharraf for many years - ever since 2002 in fact, and only since end of last year has it gained actual momentum. It is BB that has been more desperate for a deal than Musharraf, because she realises that all those years she has been out of the country (she left way before before Musharraf came to power) her party is drifting away from the Bhutto fantasy. The party has been out of power for 11 years, and she out of Pakistan for more than 8, in which the organizational structure has decayed and local power centres have emerged. She is desperate to get back to Pakistan and take charge to save the party from being taken over by rivals, and from having a poor show in the elections. Plus she needs the govt to ease up on the Swiss court case, which if convicted in would finish her off - domestically and internationally. Hence No Nawaz or some rally happy Chief Justice is going to get in the way of her making a deal with the General-President, who still holds all the cards.

so Mullahs and Nawaz (prodigy of Zia so not much diff than the mullahs) are left holding each other, while Benazir is getting backdoor contact from musharraf to make a comeback.
what happens to Nawaz and Mullahs. Lets say she gets in power..would they go after her, or would they accept her. I mean I know when she won earlier, mullahs had said islamically she could not be their leader and all, but then maybe read some chapters they had not read or someting and became her lackeys. so they will fall in her lap again like before.

Benazir summons PPP leaders to Dubai
Chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto has summoned some of her party leaders to Dubai for a briefing on the upcoming elections by the US Democratic party. This will be fourth such briefing in about a year’s time. Sources told Dawn here on Monday that previous briefings were arranged by the International Republican Institute (IRI), a research wing of the ruling Republican party. They said a team of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) would make a presentation to Ms Bhutto and her party leaders on June 9 on the elections. They said that PPP’s senior vice-chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani, president of the party’s Punjab chapter Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, opposition leader in the National Assembly Qasim Zia, PPP’s secretary-general Jahangir Badar, Senator Dr Safdar Abbasi and a member of the party’s foreign liaison committee Palwasha Behram had been ordered to reach Dubai.The sources said the NDI’s presentation would be made by a team headed by the institute’s Pakistan head Sheila Fruman and the NDI would focus on the process of voter registration in Pakistan. Three similar presentations have been made by the IRI team on the findings of three surveys conducted in Pakistan to ascertain political trends in June 2006, September 2006 and March 2007. The PPP leaders were last briefed by the IRI team on April 29.
