Power Crisis likely to worsen

So much for these silly power generation threads, what will they do now, increase load shedding from 12 hours a day to 20 hours?

Power crisis likely to worsen
** Acute shortage of water may hit Rabbi crops hard*

By Zafar Bhutta

ISLAMABAD: The prevailing water shortage may lead to a worse power crisis in future, and affect Rabbi crop targets as the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has informed the government that the country will be facing over 30 percent water shortage in the coming months, sources told Daily Times on Saturday.

The country is facing a shortfall of around 3,000 to 39,000 megawatt (MW) power deficit per day because of the water shortage, according to officials. Presently, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is generating around 4,000 MW of electricity per day that may be further scaled down due to the predicted water shortage of over 30 percent.

Sources said the water shortage would affect the Rabbi crop targets and power generating sectors that would cause more load shedding in the country. The government has set a target of 24 million tonnes of wheat. Pakistan produced 23.3 million tonnes of wheat last year.

Despite the record wheat crop, the country is having a flour shortage and if the country faces more water shortage affecting the Rabbi crops, then the flour shortage will worsen. The sources said IRSA has forecast the 30 percent water shortage keeping in view the 40 percent decline in water inflows in Indus, Kabul, Jhelum and Chenab.

Re: Power Crisis likely to worsen

But the GDP has skyrocketed and people's buying power is increasing on a minutely basis :@:
That results in shortage of power because people are now able to replace candles with ballubs and tubelights.

God Bless the Progress?! :@:

Re: Power Crisis likely to worsen

Not to mention it creates an apetite for atta :hehe:

Re: Power Crisis likely to worsen

Ah yes ofcourse! Well..um…errr…ahem…that’s also due to the greater buying power that people can now afford to eat 2 rotis whereas 1 in the previous political eras. You see…it’s all good! Why don’t u ordinary people understand the bigger picture.

The power crisis is actually a step towards progress, it shows that people have realized their potential under the current regime of die-hearts patriots ((who at any cost will teach the people value of resources one less thing at a time so that people can appreciate what they have)), and in turn what you see is more people logging onto AOL Pakistan and such, hence the higher usage of power.

It all works out in the end.

PS: LOL!
PS2: You can now lease a car even if you make Rs. 10K per month. Don’t worry about the shortage of gas/CNG, it means nothing. Remember! Bigger Picture! Khush-haal Pakistan! :smokin:
