..with foundation..
Do you always use it?
I tend to use just liquid or cream foundation on its own..

Re: Powder..
purpose of powder is to set the foundation,it provides a smooth finish and absorbs the excess oil and also foundation stays on longer ..yes i use lancome & cant go without using a powder.
Re: Powder..
yes .. but I skip powdering when i am keen on getting a sheen or a dewy look ..
Re: Powder..
I use liquid blush and liquid highlighter for a dewy look :)
Re: Powder..
On myself I use it rarely...I set my foundation using a Starbucks napkin :)
Re: Powder..
yup i use maybellines dream matte powder and it helps you shine less and makes the foundation stay longer
Re: Powder..
Reha, I can’t tell if you’re joking or not.. I’m such a thicko sometimes ![]()
I use MAC Pro Longwear or Full Coverage on a daily basis.. They tend to last all day with one application in the morning..
They obviously aren’t the lightest foundations so prob no need to bother with powder as well?
Re: Powder..
^ I am serious Deebs! I always carry a bunch in my purse...they're amazing!
Re: Powder..
I only use liquid and never had a problem with it. I just recently got a powder and I don't feel much different other than it gives a slightly softer appearance.
Re: Powder..
I don't apply powder b/c I think it makes it more obvious that I'm wearing stuff on my face. I just use liquid foundation, and sometimes I even pat it with wet fingers to make it look even more natural.
Re: Powder..
I have oily skin so I usually apply a little bit of powder in certain areas.
Re: Powder..
Can't live without powder!! It's a must for me to finish off my entire look; my always go-to one's are either Vichy setting powder or Chanel pressed powder (poudre universelle)
Re: Powder..
Oh I forgot to mention...I use powder when I set clients' makeup and for that I use Ben Nye's Banana Powder.
Its the best thing so far that I've seen to set makeup aside from the little Starbuck's trick.
Re: Powder..
All depends on your skin type. I can't live without my MAC studio fix powder. Doesn't matter what foundation I have on underneath, i'm not satisfied until I have that specific powder on.

Oh I saw this in a British video! How much is that?
I use Lancôme dual finish.
Re: Powder..
Its actually not expensive at all...mine was about $10 or $15 at a theater costume shop.
I experimented with liquid foundation way back when...but I didn't really like the heavy coverage look because I mostly use foundation to even out my skin tone.
Then I tried powder on its own and for the amount of coverage I desire, powder alone gives my skin an awesome finish. Plus its half the hassle of applying liquid foundation.
In fact I've gotten compliments many times on how great my skin looks when people don't even realize I'm wearing any make up. Currently I'm hooked to Korres mineral foundation from Sephora.
Anybody else get by with powder alone?
Re: Powder..
^ yes i only use lancome teint idole compact powder alone without using any foundation....and its perrrrfect <3
Re: Powder..
I don't put powder all over my face to set my make up as I feel it gives a very flat and cakey look. If I really have to, I just apply powder on my T-zone to get rid of the shine.
To answer a question from a poster, I have got away with just applying powder on my face. It think it's a great way to unify the complexion and achieve a nice clean matte skin.
Re: Powder..
My skin tone isn’t too even..
Those pics of Eva Longoria without makeup which people thought looked horrific.. that’s how I look without any base :sid:
