Powder Room

Re: Powder Room

^:omg:

Very funny and very true TLK bhai. Except, back to the case in point, there is no shower in muzna's powder room.

Kitchen and bath are the most important features in a home and largely showcase homeowner's sense of style. Now what would you like is highly depended on what your style is. If you are minimalist then you may want to get a clean spa like looks. If you are a traditionalist then go for textured wall paper, wood paneling and a chair rail as they all add formality. Modern look can be achieved by chic floating vanity as it takes less space without compromising the style. Put small glass mosaic tiles in your favorite color scheme on one of the wall and use same scheme for your towels and bath accessories. Use accent pieces like some art work or wall scones in opposite color to some contrast and drama.

What's a powder room?

Re: Powder Room

Its funny you ask Brit Chick because most brits have no idea such a thing exists. It's a 2 piece washroom that is located on the main floor of a home. 99.99% of North American homes have one.

A half bath. Usually down stairs in two story homes with no bath tub or shower. Idea is that ladies need to powder their nose and put finishing touches before leaving home or during a party hence the name.

Re: Powder Room

And from a desi perspective its a washroom for guests or an old dada dadi nana nani too feeble to go up the stairs to use a washroom and for all other emergencies.

Re: Powder Room

Is a powder room a bathroom?

Re: Powder Room

^ yes, usually consisting of a sink and toilet only.

My ideal powder room:

But it’s too “playboy bachelor” and wouldn’t fit in with the rest of our home. :frowning:

How about adding some artwork on the walls to jazz the place up a little? I told you woman… get those canvasses out and get painting!!!

Re: Powder Room

@ Maroush. Thanks for answering :) I felt a bit silly asking but I needed to know :p

Re: Powder Room

afshi -- very nice bathroom.....wish I had space in my powder room to put a ottoman or something in there.....unfortunately it is only slightly larger than a freakin' closet!

TLK -- is there no end to your "bathroom creativity"?

cheegs -- what? you don't like the watering can in my powder room?

bebo -- I am definitely into the spa look as opposed to the traditional style.

roushie -- minus the lighting, that bathroom looks like it comes from a futuristic prison!!

I like the tiles but am afraid that it will be more permanent than I might want.

but I am liking.......

Re: Powder Room

I dont know why i just cant get along with that shade of blue.. has a very warehousy feel. Green or yellow in the same hue however would look better imho.

Thanks.. And what about some paintings or pictures?

Futuristic prison?? How dare you!!

looks at the pic again

Damn, you’re right!! I’m glad i’m not always in control when it comes to interior design. :bummer:

Kinzz, i’m liking the duck egg blue walls and the mosaic pattern behind the sink in that pic! :k:

In other words, a downstairs loo :p

I was thinking the same thing. Have you seen the ones located under staircases you have to be careful not to bang your head when you’ve done your business :omg:

Re: Powder Room

Yes i ran into plenty under the staircases my last trip to the UK. You poor things. :-p
