**Ian Poulter held off the challenge of compatriot Paul Casey to win the WGC-Accenture Match Play in Arizona.**Poulter made the stronger start and was 4 up after 14 holes before Casey started to fight back.
Poulter went 4 up again on the 25th but dropped shots at the 27th and 28th to lead by just two strokes.
Casey missed a chance to cut the lead on the 32nd and fell three behind on the next hole before Poulter sealed a 4&2 win at the 34th with a neat putt.
It was Poulter’s first victory in the United States and moves him up to fifth in the world rankings.
