I have read through previous treads but just want to know what I’m doing wrong.
Most kids understand at least or can be bribed
My daughter will be 3 in October and she’s mashallah a very bright and clever girl she can understand every thing apart from this
She’s not scared or even can be bribed
She does the poo and peepee in her pants and doesn’t even tell.me I have to find the puddles or see her pats wet
I ask hee all day long yet she doesn’t respond and will do on her trousers.and she has that I dont care look.
DItto! Keep taking her to the potty every couple hours. Also try to figure out her potty time and take her to the potty 10 minutes or so before that time.
Try to make potty time fun for her…singing songs, reading books, making silly faces, making silly songs…
Dont wait for her to tell you. The more she stays in wet pants, the more she will get accustomed to the feeling since she already does not care about the wetness.
When I started training my son, I would take him every 45 minutes for couple of weeks. Then I increased the time to 1 hour and then 1.5 hours.
He did have accidents in between but because he was getting used to staying dry, whenever he had an accident, he would not even move from his place and call me.
also probably now you know what time she does number 2. It rarely changes. But take her to potty around that time and do not move her until she does it. I know the time for my daughter but she holds it if she is sitting on the potty seat. Sometimes I get tired of waiting and as soon as I put her in a diaper she does it.
Nadz, It’s going to be very tiring, I had to fully potty train my 3 year old while being pregnant myself and also my other 2 year old following me around while this all was going on, I literally went nuts out of my mind, but I kept at it and didn’t give up, but alhamdulilah it did happen, and the little sister just learned by watching lolz
When she wakes up in the morning put her on the toilet/potty, even if she says she doesn’t want to go, the idea is to have her learn to use the potty, keep encouraging her ‘she’s a big girl now and big girl dont wear diapers/pull-ups’…like the above posters suggested take her up every hour and don’t make it a chore, have a story book nearby or even stickers as a reward so she can feel good and encouraged, DON’T get mad at her because if you do you will only prolong this process, keep calm and try everyday…trust me it will happen iA
I would take her more regular then that; she will start taking the hint and InshAllah it will help with the potty training. As unpractical as it may sound; how’s about every 30-45 minutes? It should tire her out and hopefully she will cooperate more.
I waited a month before my boy turned 3 as i tried twice before that and gave up, someone told me boys tend to take longer and to potty train just before he turned 3- and they were right he was potty trained in a week!
heres what i did..
put a alarm on your phone which goes off every 10mins- show ur little one how to do it and let them choose the alarm sound and make an angreement that each time it goes off u race to the loo- my little one loved this and helped me as i didnt hv go carry him or force him into the bathroom
i placed a advent calender of his fav show- power rangers ontop of the toilet door and every time he weed in the loo he wud open one box and get a sweet
he loved this!
U need to make it fun, jus dont give up! He still has accidents but alhamdulilah he now gets it oh and mk sure u dont use pull ups, straight o underwear so if she does have a accident she will feel it
oh and get her underwear that has her fav charafters on it, jus so she loves wearing it
