A friend and I are in the process of organizing a potluck BBQ. This event is going to be an open invite…meaning… the people that we invite can invite other people …so on and so forth. Which means we are going to have one huge gathering.
Now…we were thinking of making a list of items needed for the potluck via evite. com and everyone would sign up for it…but my question is…how will i know what quantity to ask for since i dont know the exact number of people attending as of yet? i hope i made sense
then divide it up among 5 guests. and divide up the main stuff. like 5 of the guests can bring the buns, 5 can bring the meat part, 5 can bring the condiments and veggies, stuff like that. and each of the 5 can bring like 5 bags of buns. hope i make sense :p
Well 1st get a headcount of exactly how many people are coming (or at least a close guess). Then based on that divvy out tasks/food needed. But I would recommend be careful in asking them to bring too much stuff if its a variety of foods (rice, pasta, hotdogs, sweets, salads). You will end up with too much food. When there is a LOT of food, everyone just takes a little of everything..so just tell them to bring enough for 5-6 people each...
You might want to plan out a menu, so you know what to ask people to bring.
