I don’t post my pictures online simply because having heard all the stories about what can happen with pictures and how they can get circulated or into the wrong hands …I’ve always made it a principle not to , sometimes even had online friends get annoyed for not “trusting” them with my pix…
Secondly I don’t ask as well because not putting a face to the nick gives the guppie a certain personality derived from the interaction with them online and reading their posts …keeps things interesting in my opinion !
I really don’t feel you can tell much from a person posting their pix anyway because come on now , they are gonna choose their bestest pic and touch it up and post that …so it really doesn’t tell you much about them …
Now my question is why do you post your pix online or if not ,why not ?***
Insecurity that their pic can be used for some evil purpose . Anyone who spend sometime online must have witness it at least once . Even happened here on GS .
I only have my pics on FB and only for my friends and family..(not on-line friends), but because I travel so much, this is the only way I can keep in touch with them and let them know what I am up to, and I make sure my privacy settings are set in a way that only they can see me.
But otherwise...it is not a good idea to put ur pics for everyone to see...coz of all the weird stuff that happens these days.
i totally agreed with Namaan due to security reasons people don't like to upload there pics on net those who don't read the terms and conditions i recommend do read before sharing your personal information in social and other sites they use your personal information for spamming purpose etc......
For e.g In social networking you join some groups they are 3rd party application which u use in Social networking sites and the information you put on that application that social site is not responsible for your information sharing unintentionally u share and they use your information and sometimes for advertisement the put adds to others site and u don't ware of that.
I post my pic but selectively now. A pic I had posted on GS at one time made it to some matrimonial website and some dude named jondy or something was using it, he also claimed he was a cardiologist and a US citizen and what nots, and had piss poor english. had to write to the website and ask them to remove the pic etc. dont know how many girls this guy mucked about with and now when they curse him out, they envision my face.
i did have my pic up that was my profile pic before but seeing all the nightmare stories i’m glad i removed it a while back, thank the lord i don’t use facebook
I've never really posted my pics online, . the only time i did put a dp of mine on fb, i was notified by a friend that some one else h ad my pic on as theres. so i pm'd the girl and asked her to take it off, it was a professionally taken photograph, and i thought that perhaps she thought it was a random pic of a girl on the internet and had put it on without knowing. she however ignored my request and kept marveling on the fact that how similar we were in appearance and that we were for sure "twins". i had to ask her a second time very nicely to take it off no matter how similar we looked, and in reply she asked me if the picture was a "painting" or if it had been photo shopped, i said no and asked her a third time gritting my teeth. . so this time she tells me that this is so HER in the picture called me a liar, and then demanded to know where i got this picture from, and that she and her husband were getting very suspicious of me. and then she just blocked me and my other friends who had pm'd her as well over the same issue.
sigh.. as a last resort i reported her profile and got my friends to do the same as well. she was deleted from fb shortly. . what a fiasco that whole incident was....
the thing that made my jaw drop open was that, she wasnt really being pig headed, she actually did think for a while atleast that some one who admired her secretly took a photograph of her , edited the picture and put it up on the internet for display.... how full of yourself can you be???
i wonder why fb took the option away of hiding your dp from anybody other than your friends... it was pretty useful...

Thank God I haven't had any issues yet, but I have posted my pics on FB and here on GS. Somehow I am still of that feeling that it can't happen to me although I should know better. Maybe I shouldn't anymore. At least not of my little kidos.
