Im sick of girls requestiing pics to be taken off cuz "its their cousins, sisters, friends, acquaintances".........most of these girls have posted pictures of models or other brides but wen sumone posted pics of their relatives or friends they want them taken off? if those pics r circulating on net, and are relevant to the topic being discussed i dont think they shud be requesting those pics to be "taken off".............because its their cousins shadi pic, or mehandi pic or watever....thats just my opionion..i posted my pic and later relaized i dont want it online so i requested mods to take it off...its another thing if the owner of the pic comes and says hey take my pic off please..

I was really SHOCKED beyond believe when I logged to GS this morning and looked at the bridal pictures thread. You had posted a picture from my phuppo's wedding which was taken in 1981. This perticular picture was scanned this past wednesday by my own husband and uploaded on a PRIVATE photoalbum on my mum's facebook account. I was in the picture (as a baby), as were my mum and my sister. I need to know where you got that picture from and who gave u the right to post it here on GS? I am so pissed off knowing that my mum can not even share her PRIVATE pictures with her family and friends on facebook!
SO kindly let me know where you got that picture from.
ANd also you know that the picture you posted of my cousin's mehndi had been taken down from the other thread for the reason that it was a private picture and my cousin was unaware it had been posted here. Then you go on and post the same picture in the 'mehndi' thread?????
Once again I have no problem when guppies post my cousin's modelling pictures or professional pics cuz that part of her job. I just think it's extremely rude that u re-posted a picture that was deleted from another thread before!

I'm new so forgive me if I'm asking an obvious or silly question. But I've seen several people post things like:
"I won't post my photo of course"
"I'm not silly enough to post my OWN!"
But I thought the whole point was to share our own weddings and let other people get inspiration from them?
And I've seen lots of people posting other people's wedding pics. Who what am I missing?

^ b/c we find that alot of the pictures we post end up getting misused. I'm sure alot of girls here have at least 1 horror story...
but it is the height of hypocrisy to easily post someone else's picture and/or make nasty comments towards them but be vehemently opposed to posting your own.

It's a personal choice, if I say I don't want to post my pictures that means I just don't, same with others. There's no compulsion that anyone who gets married has to share pictures here. And for that reason, I don't post others' pictures either. I used to when I first joined but then I saw how pictures get passed around/saved. I have also posted mine here a couple of times but only when I felt like it.
There are a few reasons for why girls here choose not to share pictures- people saving them, reposting elsewhere, passing them around.. let's not forget that GS is an internet site, everyone has access to it.

^ It funny you should say that - I posted my bhaabi's outfit pics on gupshup a while ago and they ended up on some french website!

I posted my engagement pix then asked the mod to take them off after sometime but i dont post other ppl's pictures too though i have many of themmm and so much want to share with u guys

I never post anyone else's pictures. Chicago is such a tight knit community, we all know each other somehow.
Also, people are right when they say pictures get misused and recycled elsewhere. Added to that, you never know if someone in these pictures does pardah or not. A lot of my friends do and I have to be super careful about their pics. Some girls arent careful and that can end up hurting another person who is very conscious about her pictures.

zigs, a bunch of wedding pictures of other guppies, myself included, ended up on some french website too. i think the girl posting them there was a guppie also.
i sort of found it more amusing than anything else- my mehendi and wedding pics are on my photographer's portfolio website too and on a couple of other blogs, so its only to be expected, imho.

Yeh - I found it pretty funny; I was hoping I could try and translate the french with my old French-to-english school dictionary!
