Dear All sellers that ship to anyone in Australia,
I’ve just found out that my parcels in DHL have been held in Customs because there is no label on the clothes that say Country of Origin and Fabric. I have to get labels made now and they will be stitched on, then they will release the clothes. The labels making and stitching is costing me over $200! The labels have to be on every piece of clothing, shalwar, kameez, dupatta, slip etc.
So please stitch labels on when sending clothes to anyone in Australia, it will be greatly appreciated.

If that's the case, its definitely a concern. I've sent a couple of parcels to Australia but used skynet and didn't have issue with either. One reason could be the weight which was 1 and 2kg respectively.
Can you share some more info, like how much did the shipment weigh? Was it sent as gift or did you put value on the shipment.
same happened to me for my denmark package, they asked for all the purchase receipts for all the cloths, but that package was almost 17 kgs. i had to send purchase reciepts in order for client to get the package.
i think its for heavy packages only, please give more info.
It was only 5 suits, and 4 kg.. not something huge. My cousin who recently went to Pak, bought too many clothes and couldnt bring them back with her, so she sent them by DHL to her own name and address. And they want her to get labels on those as well. Even though she made them all by herself, and she has airfare and whatnot to prove she was in Pakistan.
That is weird, then all i can say is, she is unlucky :(
Cause i just arrived here in HK with two suitcases full of cloths, almost 40 suits of orders including many pairs of shoes, which i will ship to destination countries from here, and i had no problem. And i have been shipping cloths to different countries, except denmark i had no problem with any of my packages, and they only asked for receipts of purchase, not labels. There must be a problem with document filling, are you sure you did not send them as commercial items? who filled the documents?

I did ^ and it’s not only the parcel I sent that it stuck with customs for the above mentioned reason but also of many people KS09 knows who will need to have the labels to get their parcels released. so it’s more to do with Australian post office rules I guess
Just before Eid I had sent parcels to Austarlia and my outfits only had my name tag without any description about the fabric or origin of country etc but those were delivered on time without any problem with customs.
