post wedding help

How is a newly wed bride supposed to dress up at home?
like what sortaf makeup-should i do eye makeup(eyeshadow stuff) or leave it simple with just eyeliner and mascara, what sortaf lips?, how much jewellery, clothes-formal, semi formal or even stylish simple stuff would do?
Obviously, little would seem too little and much may look trashy unless its a format event and that is whats confusing me. I loathe wearing makeup and jewellery so i have no idea what i’m gonna do

Re: post wedding help

It depends on the situation.

Will you be living with in laws or on your own?

Of course you will have to make an effort after you get married but if there's no other family around then I wouldn't bother with the heavy clothes and jewellery but everyone is different.

Re: post wedding help

I do not live with in-laws, and hubby didn't have a problem with my pjs and tees. The only earrings I can wear without eventually getting a cut somehow around my ears while I sleep are my diamond studs. I broke a couple of gold necklaces while I slept. I take rings off when I wash hands to "feel" clean then end up forgetting the ring where I took it off. And this was all the "lighter" jewelry!

My hubby has accepted me as one of the laundas and light makeup and nice Pakistani dresses without a train is my look for desi events.

Lol if you're not with your in laws and you're not going anywhere, wear what you like. if you're with in laws, I'd go with simple. a few nice outfits that are comfy and no OTT makeup. no one needs to dress like a Star plus drama these days

Thank you for replying everyone:)

Re: post wedding help

Keep it casual..inlaws will usually tell you if people are coming over you can freshen up. My inlaw are also family friends and she told me not to load up on a trousseau of clothes cause they have a hands on approach. To keep it simple cause you cant cook with all the fancy things falling all over.
