I used to shed hair before i got pregnant, but it wasnt too bad. But after my first baby i have lost so much hair that my skin is starting to show and its not stopping. My baby is 7 months old now. Anyone else experience this or does anyone have a solution to this? O yeah during my pregnancy i would hardly lose a hair but now i am just going bald and its only my first baby ![]()
Re: Post partum hair loss
I experienced this after all 3 of my children but it was worst for my 3rd. She is 11 months now and it's only starting to grow back now. I thought I was going to go totally bald. As far as I know it was to do with BF'ing the babies.
Re: Post partum hair loss
I lost a lot of hair and I never quite got it to grow back to the same quantity and thickness that I had before I got pregnant.
If you are looking for remedies and are concerned that this is only your first pregnancy then definitely find some products that work for you.
Re: Post partum hair loss
Are you still taking your prenatals? Don't stop those just because you've delivered.
I'd get on a regimen of biotin, prenatals and regular scalp massages with oil.
My hair during pregnancy was amazinggggggggggggg. 4 months PP and it was shedding like snakeskin. I lost a lot of it and still am BUT a lot of women have told me that eventually you'll get some of it back (not all).
Such is life :(
Re: Post partum hair loss
Shampoo bars from lush and online worked for me. I use shed hair in the shower but it stopped I started using the bars but then started again when those finished I went back to regular shampoos. So maybe try avoiding retail sjpoos and tryore natural stuff and see if that helps. Regular shampoos thin out hair so much. Biotin for sure. Is that something that can be taken during pregnancy?

Same issue here! My dr recommended sulfate free shampoo but I haven't really heard good things about it working.
::following for tips ;)::
Re: Post partum hair loss
I have had on and off hair loss since having my baby. I guess women stop shedding during pregnancy and resume after childbirth. It took a long while for my hair to look normalish after having my baby. I use black castor oil on my hair a few times a week and it really helps. I think ivr seen some nee hair growth as well. Ive also heard rave reviews about biotin as well. But be careful, higher doses can give acne problems anf if u stop taking the pills your hair will go back to being the way it used to be...
