Post Partum Belts/Binding

Has anyone tried any sort of belly binding or used any post partum belts they can recommend?

I am told they’re really good for you but does anyone have any experience with them?

Re: Post Partum Belts/Binding

I had a section so I didn't try them. I would assume they would make you feel very uncomfortable

Re: Post Partum Belts/Binding

I keep reading how they're almost essential for post partum bellies to go back in but want to know if anyone has any experience with them.

Re: Post Partum Belts/Binding

A friend of mine had a c-section about a month ago and she’s been using one since day 1. Last time I saw her was about 2 weeks ago and at that time, she said she was glad she got it b/c it made her feel more comfy (I didn’t ask further details…).

Re: Post Partum Belts/Binding

so let me ask a question here … does wearing tight spanx help lose weight/flatten tummy? or lose weight faster?

here is my perspective: abdominal binders/back braces arnt a “new thing” the hype is new though. the medical purpose of these has been to provide support for abdominal and back muscles after severe injury or major abdominal operation.. support, comfort, reduction in swelling which is part and parcel of surgical procedures. its temporary. thats it.
lately the real purpose has been misconstrued and a lot of women seem to be suggesting that belly binder use alone is enough/essential for a flat tummy. One has got to ask … how? by what mechanism does squishing muscles together make them go flatter? … muscles dont work like that … if they did … we should all be perfectly shaped through use of binders everywhere.
They do help reduce swelling and provide support so you can move around easily and not feel like dying of pain after a cough/sneeze but don’t expect magical wt loss/flt tummy from it. All of the evidence in support of its use for cosmetic purposes is anecdotal at best.

i didnt use it for my first and dont have any plans to use it for my second but have been aware of its availability for a while now … i will use it if i feel im having excessive trouble in changing positions/getting around etc …
incidentally … i have used a binder in the past (for 8 weeks) … after my lower back surgery years ago … for support and pain control because i really couldnt move … sadly it did nothing to make me svelte :cb:

Re: Post Partum Belts/Binding

I used a belt and c-panty. It was great help not really in losing weight but in moving around.
