I also used the Bellefit. I was too scared to use it the first week because of the stitches down there. I thought it would hurt me more as I was already very sore.
I started using it the second week. I feel like it did make a difference. But I couldn’t wear it too long. I’m one of those people who is always hot, then I was having major after birth hot flashes, plus my baby was born at the end of May so it had started to get hot. I was constantly sweating while wearing it, so I stopped after 2 weeks.
But my stomach did go flatter. I wore a medium size. If you go on the Bellefit website, there is a little survey you can take and it will help you decide which belt is best for you, and also which size would work best.
I think it’s mainly the hook and eye closure and zipper bits on the bellefit that are making me nervous the most. I can just see myself doing something awful to my incision by accident
I’m going to order the c-panty instead!
so did you ladies end up buying and using the Bellefit belt? i am contemplating buying the zipper one (as it seems so much easier than the hooks!). so far, i don’t plan on having a c-section birth inshallah!
any updates or comments? the reviews seem great, but its quite costly so i wanted to hear input from the new gupshup mommies who have tried this or any other belt. i used the belly bandit with my first child, but i feel it didn’t provide enough coverage and it would roll up on my big butt :).
^ yes you can. infact abdominal binders have been used for years after abdominal and back surgeries. they do nothing for wt loss though … so thats just new hype.
their purpose is to provide support to abdominal n back muscles post surgery and help reduce swelling.
im wearing one even as i type … have been for the past 8 days … it went on right after the surgery in the recovery unit. an absorbent abdominal pad goes over the incision and the binder over top of that.
im 8 days post op and off of all pain meds except motrin as needed. ive done laundry and even cooked today! so i really like it … its helped me a great deal in being mobile and pain free pretty rapidly.
