Post-Flight Appearance

What are some simple remedies, to a fresh look after an 10 hour flight? Keep in mind you can only carry 3 oz of liquids. What make-up, if any, would you wear or carry in your handbag?

I just hate the dark circles and tired look after a long flight.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

I like those refreshing hot towels they give you on flights, they definitely help. And moisturizing cream from the toilet lol.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

Ugghh I hate the way I look after a flight...my hair gets sooo greasy and flat...and so does my skin...some girls walk out looking so perfect...I have no idea how they do it

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

Uhh i notice that my hair goes all static and weird, i hate it...but apart from that i just apply all my makeup before the flight and then 'touch-up' when the plane is about to land..
I usually avoid eyeliner inside the eyes though, as it tends to smudge and heavy foundation - a tinted moisturizer is better.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

Concealer and a compact..

Sleep well and keep yourself hydrated.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

For me hydrating face water, handcream and lipbalm are must!! Make a ponytail coz my hair get all static!!!
Anyways hate goin on long flts !! Hope it helps...

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

I'm going pk in 3 weeks, so thanks for the tips!

I would say apply light makeup before the flight, but avoid eyeliner (like the previous poster said) and then touch up and apply eyeliner before you land!

I also wanted to ask, how would you dress on a long haul flight? I have seen girls with the most heaviest sequined dress with hair all done up as if they are about to attend a wedding and find it quite funny! lol :D

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

Face wipes/towels are a great help and I would probably wear a tinted moisturizer and colored lip balm and keep some blotting sheets. Best to wait till the end of your flight before any eye makeup. I like travelling in comfy jeans and tee or shirt along with a jacket or trench. I also like having a cozy shawl-like scarf that I can drape around my shoulders or neck. I kno wat you mean about the over-dressed girls but I also see others who travel in their PJ's and thats just wrong!

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

Lol, me too :D The funniest thing is watching them at the metal detectors having to take off all that jewellery as well.. I'm the other extreme tho, I dress right down..

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

This would depend upon the length of the flight. The most makeup I'd usually wear is my lipstick/gloss ....maybe mascara. So, if it's a short flight of a couple of hours......and if my skin is in good condition......I'd just wear the lipstick and mascara (as I don't really like foundation too much). Now.......if it's a short flight.....and my skin is not in the best condition.....then I'd also wear foundation/concealer.

If it's a long flight.....(let's say from the US to Pak)......I don't really bother with wearing makeup on the plane. Because the combined effect of makeup (that has worn off) and airplane fatigue.......is not pretty. Instead what I do is......when we arrive at the final airport...I'll freshen up my face in the restroom (apply a bit of makeup).....because I'll know that I'll be seeing relatives soon.

One thing that I do take care to do is not mess with my hair too much in a long flight. I have fine hair....and fine hair tends to get greasy fast. The more your brush it and touch it (fingertips have oil on them).....the faster my hair gets oily. So, i just keep it in a simple, no-fuss hairstyle (pony tail, etc).....and don't mess with it much.

Also, the number of makeup items that I take has nothing to do with the flight itself. Rather, I take fairly common things like foundation/concealer, lipstick/gloss, mascara, eyeliner, blush. I may not apply ALL of these things when I arrive at my destination.........but I bring them in case I may need it for special occasions and such.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

i also wonder how they travel like that and i mostly saw this on UK bound flights. full jewelry makeup and embrioded cloths.
anyway try not to wear cloths that wrinkle a lot like cotton, stuff like gorget does not wrinkle that much. so any fresh colour rather simple yet stylish outfit will do it. small earings and chain u can wear before landing. for teh makeup i only use lipstick (thats my make 90% of teh times not just for flight) nad may be black eye pencil.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

i tend to fly out alot on long flights and i always where my makeup. i'll wear my foundation, top liner, kajal and mascara n a bit of lippy but mine neva smudges. i just top it up a little bit bfre i land and just brush my hair and i look totally fresh again. 8-)

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

I always wonder some girls are so fresh looking even after the long journey of a flight, I always end up looking so dullllllllllllllllllllll and my hair gets messed up so is my shakal lol…anyways what i do is i just have kajal and a lipbalm or a line my lips and abit of gloss or little bit of foundation when im the plane i have to feel comfy so when im about to land i do my liner and mascara with loads of foundation make me look better but doesnt help at all sadlyy:crying:…omg i really want to know what can i do to make my skin look glowingg even after the 12hrs flight!!

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

For very long flights : Apart from the light makeup, I always take a small spray bottle (1$ bottle:Brought from Target/Walgreen or somewhere) and fill it with rosewater /or homemade mint etc and keep spraying it throughout to keep the skin hydrated and fresh. Helps a lot:)

For Hair: I have oily hair that turns greasy in 2 seconds on the plane, so I always carry a dry shampoo (I hate the normal drugstore one's, so I go with a organic brand) and spray it right before landing and it just makes a world of difference. Hope that helps.

Re: Post-Flight Appearance

Wear little make-up on long-haul flights... I use make-up wipes to take it all off. An hour before landing, I brush my teeth and do my make-up.

It's important to let your skin breathe, if you can...stick to a tinted moisturizer and remove all your make-up and apply a moisturizer. Airplane air is really drying and may cause skin to flake..
