Re: Post Bridal Make-up Pics real Weddings would be great
Haha a close friend of mine recenty got married, and she was always simple, never wore makeup, and didn’t like to dress up but for the wedding she went all out, and it was so funny everyone kept telling her “wow you look beautiful i couldn’t even recognise you”. She was so offended by the end of the wedding, but i think we converted her cause now she spents some time on her self, even if its just a few minutes in the morning to coordinate her outfit for the day.

You all are so sweet for your comments. I guess when I do get married one day, inshaa’Allah, you guys can see the pics and THEN tell me if I looked good or not.

i’m of two minds about that… i mean my cousin was an example of this- she usually never wore makeup, and i did her chotti dinner makeup even cos she didn’t know HOW to do makeup… anyway, the point is, she was unrecognisable on her wedding day. she looked absofrickinlutely GORGEOUS. i have to find her pics and put them on here. but then, she didnt look like herself. i have an issue with that. i mean, shouldn’t you look the most like yourself, and the least like a dress-up doll on your wedding day? its such an important day and its nice to look good but not to the extent that people won’t know you! especially when you can never replicate that look, nor do you want to replicate that look. it seemed like she wasn’t being true to herself. quote]
I agree with femme Fatale. I think that girls who get married in Pakistan usually look far better than girls who get married here in the States, not bc they are prettier, but just because the parlors really know how to set everything perfectly. This is probably the only reason why I want to get married in Pakistan, even though I know getting married there has its own issues.
My cousin got married a couple of years back and she never wore makeup before marriage. On her wedding day, all everyone kept saying was how beautiful she looked and how different she looked. I never thought of the fact that it was wierd that she didn’t look like herself, the way somegroovychick put it. That really has me thinking now. I kind of always wanted it to be that way with me—“ooh she looks so pretty and different than she normally does.” My mother always told me that when a girl gets married there should be a noticeable change (i.e she should not look the same way she did before marriage bc she is a married woman now).

Hey, if i wanna look like myself, i cuda done my OWN makeup...
Bridal makeup (actually all makeup :p) shoudl bring out your best feature..not just mask u over...with that said, if a makeup artist can make my face look thinner (yesh its possible w/ makeup :p), and make my undereye circles go away, then by all means! I know I can't do that stuff for everyday, but hey i'm a bride, i wanna look like a bride.. :D
Re: Post Bridal Make-up Pics real Weddings would be great
Ok I found some pictures on jang website..i dont think they’re real brides, they’re models, but ill post them anyway
Love the dress…
First light pink i’ve seen that looks good as a bridal
Since its a model pic and not a real bride..im assuming we can overlook the jhumar over hte forehead
Cute set and dress…wud look nice worn again and again..not quite bridal though, more apropriate for engagement
I like the colors of the dress…wud look better if the duputta was pushed back, showing a bit of hair…very few girls can look nice wiht every bit of hair covered (not incl hijabis here)…
I like the set..not crazy abt the dress or colors, but the matha-patti looks weird, esp since u can c the sides where its pinned in.. i think the chain shud be longer or the duputta cover the sides…
Nice color combination, very villager type, alot more yellow and it’d be a perfect mehndi jora

look! its everyones favourite brides' pics --
salaam everyone, i'm new to this awesome forum! I must say that after going through this entire thread (took a long time :)) I love this bride's look the most. She not only managed to look completely amazing on both the shaadi and walima - she actually looked fairly different on both days with her choice of makeup style/colors and jewellery (most brides end up wearing big sets and jhumars on both days). But I can't help but wonder if a reddish shade of lipstick would've looked even better on the walima instead of the bronzy color she choose? Or would that have clashed/competed with her eye make-up too much?
Re: Post Bridal Make-up Pics real Weddings would be great
i have more pics of this bride, i will post it, if the computer let me:naraz:
btw, she is wearing really pretty hot pink with hint of green kaam, but this pic made her dress look orangish red or something
